The Position - 1:1 TA

A welcoming primary school in Lambeth is looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 TA to join their team as soon as possible.You will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEMH, helping them access learning, manage their emotions and develop positive relationships throughout the school day.The role will involve working with the child both inside and outside of the classroom, providing support wherever it is needed. You will help the pupil engage with lessons, complete activities and develop their confidence and independence.You will also be responsible for delivering targeted interventions to support the child's academic, social and emotional development. Building a strong and trusting relationship with the pupil will be key to helping them feel safe, settled and ready to learn.The successful candidate will be encouraged to use the child's interests to build engagement and positive relationships. This could include playing football, taking part in physical activities and using movement-based activities to help the child regulate and refocus.The ideal candidate will be patient, resilient and proactive, with the ability to remain calm and consistent when faced with challenging situations. You will need to understand that behaviour is often a form of communication and be able to respond positively to the child's individual needs.You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team to ensure the pupil receives consistent and effective support throughout the school day.
