How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Transport Planner
    Location: Aston, Birmingham
    Salary: £33,900 per annum
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
    Weekends: No weekends

    We are recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a well-established food and beverage company based in Aston, Birmingham.

    This is a Monday to Friday position working a 40-hour week, with some flexibility around start and finish times. You’ll play an important role in planning and coordinating the company’s daily transport operations, ensuring deliveries are scheduled efficiently and the fleet is operating as effectively as possible.

    The Role
    Planning and scheduling daily transport requirements
    Coordinating deliveries and ensuring jobs are booked in correctly
    Working closely with drivers, customers and internal teams
    Making sure transport plans are efficient and achievable
    Using the Qargo transport planning system to manage and plan work
    Dealing with any changes or issues that arise throughout the day
    Supporting the wider transport operation as required
    Occasional overtime may be required to ensure jobs are booked in and planned correctly. This can be completed remotely where appropriate.About YouWe’re looking for someone with previous experience in transport planning, logistics or fleet operations who is comfortable working in a busy environment and managing multiple jobs at the same time.

    Experience using Qargo would be highly beneficial, although full training can be provided to someone with strong transport planning experience.

    You’ll need to be organised, reliable and confident communicating with drivers and colleagues, with the ability to prioritise work and react quickly when plans change.
