How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Registered Manager – Children’s Home

    Location: Hartlepool
    Salary: £50,000–£55,000 per annum
    Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm
    Contract: Permanent, Full Time

    We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager, or a strong Deputy Manager ready to step up, to lead a brand-new children’s residential home in Hartlepool.

    The home will support children and young people aged 10–17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is an excellent opportunity to shape a new service from the outset, build your own team and create a positive, child-centred environment.

    The Role

    You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and development of the home, including:

    * Supporting the Ofsted registration and inspection process

    * Recruiting, managing and developing the staff team

    * Ensuring high standards of safeguarding and care

    * Maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards

    * Managing budgets and operational resources

    * Building relationships with local authorities, families and professionals

    * Promoting positive outcomes for children and young people

    About You

    We are looking for someone with:

    * Minimum 2 years’ residential childcare experience

    * Experience at senior or management level

    * Level 5 Management qualification or willingness to work towards it

    * Good knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and SCCIF

    * Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills

    * A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people
