How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Hardware / FPGA Engineers – Graduate to Senior Level

    Excellent salary + benefits

Are you an Electronics or Hardware Engineer looking to work on genuinely challenging technology involving FPGAs, high speed digital electronics, embedded software and advanced PCB design?

We are recruiting for a highly successful technology consultancy looking to expand its engineering team with talented engineers at both Graduate and experienced level.

This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who enjoy solving difficult technical problems and want exposure to the complete hardware development lifecycle rather than being restricted to one small part of the design process.

    You will be involved in:

    • Designing complex PCBs incorporating FPGAs, SoCs, high speed network interfaces and analogue/RF circuitry
    • Developing FPGA solutions using VHDL
    • Implementing signal, image and data processing algorithms
    • Schematic capture and PCB development
    • Hardware bring up, debugging and testing
    • Developing embedded firmware and software in C/C++
    • Linux device driver development
    • Working with PCB fabrication and assembly partners
    • Taking technically challenging products from initial concept through to working hardware

    Graduate Hardware Engineers

We would like to hear from high calibre graduates or postgraduates with a strong academic background in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics or another relevant numerate discipline.

You should have a 1st or 2.1 degree and ideally strong A level results in Maths and Physics.

You will also need practical knowledge of at least one of:

    • FPGA development using VHDL
    • PCB design and layout
    • Embedded C/C++ development

This could have been gained through your degree, final year project, PhD, placement, internship or personal projects.

    Experienced Hardware Engineers

For the experienced position, we are looking for engineers with 3+ years' relevant commercial experience in one or more of:

    • Complex PCB design
    • FPGA development using VHDL
    • Embedded C/C++ development

Additional experience with high speed digital design, SoCs, analogue/RF electronics, signal processing, OrCAD, Linux or hardware bring up would be particularly useful.

More experienced candidates will also have the opportunity to mentor and provide technical leadership to other engineers.

    What's on offer?

Alongside technically interesting work, the company offers an excellent overall package:
    • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
    • 10% employer pension contribution
    • Private healthcare
    • Life and Income Protection Insurance
    • Annual discretionary bonus
    • Salary reviews every six months
    • EV Car Scheme
    • Cycle to Work Scheme
    • Free parking

If you have a strong academic background and enjoy electronics, FPGA, embedded systems and solving complex engineering problems, we'd be very interested in hearing from you
