A vibrant and community-focused primary school in Greenwich is looking for a caring and motivated General Teaching Assistant to join its staff team.
This varied position will involve supporting pupils during whole-class lessons, delivering focused interventions and helping children develop confidence in their learning. The school values creativity, inclusion and positive relationships between pupils and staff.
Responsibilities
• Supporting teaching and learning across the primary curriculum
• Working with individuals and small groups in English and mathematics
• Helping pupils remain focused and participate in lessons
• Adapting resources under the direction of the class teacher
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive social skills
• Assisting with displays, resources and classroom organisation
• Sharing observations about pupils’ progress and wellbeing
• Following the school’s safeguarding and behaviour procedures
Requirements
• Experience working with children in a school or similar setting
• A positive, patient and encouraging manner
• Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
• Confidence supporting pupils with different needs and abilities
• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification would be beneficial
• An enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one
