How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Field Service Engineer 
    Location:  Leeds, Huddersfield and surrounding areas OTE: £39,813 per annum, before commission.

    Job Description:
    This is a field-based engineering role, primarily servicing and repairing electric forklift trucks, with around 90% of the work involving electric lithium-powered trucks and EP electric trucks.

    You will be responsible for attending customer sites to diagnose breakdowns, carry out servicing and maintenance, and complete repairs to ensure customers' equipment remains safe, reliable and operational.

    The company is continuing to grow and has a strong team of 9 engineers, with full training provided for the right candidate.

    You will receive full training to get you fully up to speed with the company's products, systems and processes.

    Your Responsibilities Will Include:
    Attending customer sites to diagnose and repair forklift breakdowns.
    Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
    Repairing and maintaining electric forklift trucks.
    Working predominantly with lithium-powered and EP electric trucks.
    Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults.
    Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
    Completing service reports and relevant engineering paperwork.
    Advising customers on repairs and replacement parts where required.
    Identifying opportunities to upsell and generate additional commission.
    Maintaining good customer relationships while representing the company professionally.
    Experience You Will Need:
    Previous experience working with forklifts / forklift trucks is preferred.
    Experience in servicing, repairing or maintaining material handling equipment would be advantageous.
    Good mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge is essential.
    Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
    Comfortable working independently at customer sites.
    A customer-focused and professional approach.
    Full training will be provided, including up to one month of training, so candidates with the right engineering background may also be considered.
    Package: 

    Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week
    30-minute lunch break
    Guaranteed 2.5 hours overtime per week
    OTE at around £39,813 per annum, before commission.
    Benefits: Van, fuel card, door-to-door travel, private healthcare, pension and 25 days + bank holidays are benefits on top of this and aren't included in the OTE figure.
