How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are recruiting a motivated science graduate to join a well-established international business operating from a state-of-the-art facility in Surrey.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified Chemistry, Food Science, Biochemistry or related science graduate to gain valuable industrial laboratory experience. You will receive structured training in sensory assessment, physical testing and a range of analytical techniques within the flavours, fragrances and natural-products sector.

    The role:

Manage the receipt, handling and dispatch of laboratory samples.

Maintain accurate sample records and keep storage areas organised.

Liaise with logistics, sales and quality teams to coordinate sample requirements.

Communicate updates and help resolve sample-related delays.

Participate in sensory training covering olfactory families, aroma chemicals and natural products.

Support the physical testing and organoleptic evaluation of samples.

Contribute to flavour and fragrance development projects and customer presentations.

Gain exposure to techniques including GC, HPLC and titration.

    About you:

A recent degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biochemistry or a related scientific discipline.

A genuine interest in flavours, fragrances, essential oils and natural products.

Good basic laboratory and computer skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Excellent organisation and attention to detail.

Able to prioritise multiple tasks and work effectively within a team.

Self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic about learning new techniques.

Previous industrial experience is not essential. This opportunity is ideally suited to a graduate looking to establish their career within a creative, technical and fast-paced laboratory environment
