How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Test Engineer to join a well-established and highly specialist engineering business based in Droitwich.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically qualified engineer looking for a hands-on testing and fault-finding role within a technically advanced manufacturing environment.

The business specialises in the design and manufacture of induction melting furnaces and automatic pouring equipment used within foundries and metal-processing industries across the UK and Europe.

You will be responsible for the testing, inspection, fault finding and final sign-off of complex electrical and control systems before equipment is dispatched to customers.

    The Role

As an Electrical Test Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Testing and inspecting complex electrical and control systems within a manufacturing environment.
Testing high-power electrical equipment, including inverters and control systems.
Working on induction melting furnaces and associated equipment.
Testing and fault-finding single and three-phase electrical systems.
Working with PLC and PC-based control systems, including online fault diagnosis.
Carrying out electrical testing using equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and three-phase power analysers.
Testing electrical supplies ranging from 415V up to higher-voltage/high-power systems.
Connecting electrical, water and associated systems to equipment during testing.
Testing hydraulic and water-cooling systems and associated control panels.
Calibrating and programming electronic boards and modules.
Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
Identifying faults and working closely with Design, Service and Production Engineers to resolve technical issues.
Completing testing, inspection and quality documentation.
Carrying out final inspection and sign-off of completed equipment prior to dispatch.
Working to strict health & safety and quality standards at all times.
    About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in testing, commissioning, fault finding or industrial electrical engineering.

    You should have:

An HNC/HND or equivalent electrical engineering qualification.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems and electrical testing.
Experience working with single and three-phase electrical systems.
Experience working with high-power electrical equipment.
Good understanding of analogue and digital electronics.
Experience with PLC systems and fault finding.
The ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.
Previous experience working with electrical equipment in a controlled test environment.
A methodical approach to testing and fault finding.
    Strong problem-solving skills.
A practical, hands-on approach to engineering.
A strong understanding of electrical safety and safe working practices.

Experience with HV/LV switchgear, hydraulics, cooling systems or industrial commissioning would be advantageous.

    What's on Offer
    £35,000 per annum

    Why Join?

This isn't a routine electrical testing position. You will be working on large-scale, technically sophisticated equipment, gaining exposure to high-power electrical systems, PLCs, control systems, hydraulics, cooling systems and specialist induction technology.

It's an ideal opportunity for an Electrical Test Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Electrical Technician who enjoys hands-on engineering, fault finding and solving technical problems.
