EV Infrastructure Delivery and Operations Co-Ordinator

This role has a starting salary of £42,958 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.

We are hiring an Electric Vehicles (EV) Chargepoints Delivery Coordinator to help Surrey progress towards its net zero carbon emission transport future. The position will sit within our fantastic Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO) team, but it is expected that initially it will be task-managed by the Major Projects EV Project Team.

About the Team

The TRO Team provides a legal service throughout Highways Operations & Infrastructure Directorate by promoting and producing temporary and permanent Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO) and Notices for works on the Surrey Road Network. Our aim is to provide a professional, efficient and cost-effective service to the Council. The Team ensures that the Council is protected in its legal duty and that all TRO and Notices are in place prior to any works being carried out on the Highway.

The EV team sits within the TRO team and is supported by the Major Infrastructure and Highways Improvement Team, who facilitates the delivery of capital projects initiated within the Infrastructure directorate, including multi-million-pound highways, environmental and E-mobility schemes, which align to the council's vision.

The TRO and Major Infrastructure teams are based respectively in Merrow (Guildford), and Victoria Gate (Woking), but we promote a hybrid approach to working. The successful applicant will be expected to visit potential and operational EV Infrastructure sites across Surrey on a regular basis.

About the Role

As the Chargepoint Delivery Coordinator, you will play a key role in promoting, coordinating and managing the delivery and operation of on-street electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across Surrey. Working closely with public and private sector stakeholders, EV chargepoint operators (CPOs) and contractors, you will support the delivery of a wide range of innovative, complex and politically sensitive chargepoint and cable gully installation projects.

The role involves advising on and processing Traffic Regulation Orders, managing and prioritising suggestions for new EV chargepoint locations from a variety of sources, and monitoring the progress of installation projects. You will also maintain accurate asset records for hundreds of operational sites and oversee a range of administrative and operational processes that support the successful installation, maintenance and operation of Surrey's EV charging network.

Shortlisting Criteria

In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills:

Possessing meticulous organisation and data management skills, and details conscious - able to keep track of 100s suggested locations for new EV infrastructure from a variety of sources, monitoring progress and keeping records of relevant considerations on each individual site.
Delivery focused, and solution driven. Able to prioritise and plan own workload in the context of conflicting priorities and work on own initiative, focusing on project's objectives - the installation of on-street Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure across Surrey for the benefit of its residents.
Able to build constructive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including other internal teams, Residents, Districts and Boroughs, Chargepoints Operators (CPO), Surrey Lighting Services Limited and other contractors.
Able to support the EV Delivery Supervisor in drafting and present various correspondences and reports, such as responses to customers and budget summaries. Maintain databases and prepare information for publication on the County Council's website.
Able to respond to residents in writing, by phone and at times in person in a timely and professional manner, addressing concerns while supporting the authorities Transport Plan priorities.
Able to undertake regular sites visits across Surrey in order to assess site suitability, audit assets and liaise with residents.
Experienced in using word, excel, and outlook. Knowledge of GIS mapping and /or CAD would be also beneficial.To apply, we request that you submit a CV and you will be asked the following 4 questions:
