How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    As business continues to grow across the Thames Valley and surrounding areas, our Client, a specialist in Design & Build of timber frame housing, is looking to add to its Contracts team.

    We are seeking a dedicated Contracts Manager responsible for overseeing site elements and managing timber frame projects. This role is crucial for ensuring project efficiency, maintaining accurate records, and liaising effectively across departments and with subcontractors.

    Day-to-day of the role:

    Contracts Administration:

    Set up tenders automatically following sales handover and project appointments.
    Attend meetings, take minutes, and work on developing the master tracker for project checkpoints and schedules.
    Draft, distribute, and review project programmes.
    Track and respond to incident reports and customer care issues.
    Attend design meetings to relay risk information to site and installation teams.
    Draft and issue Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) to clients, ensuring they are site-specific.
    Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors (QS) in choosing and appointing subcontractors.
    Manage project documentation such as Delay Notices and Non-Conformity Reports.
    Raise variation items to QS, including providing site-based cost backgrounds.
    Formalise working times and mileage reports to the line manager.
    Site Works:

    Conduct initial site visits and report findings.
    Attend prestart meetings and plan lifting operations if necessary.
    Supervise project sites, conduct on-site inspections, and record defects.
    Drive project handovers to ensure timely completion.
    Report on health and safety, and program-specific matters including progress percentages.
    Maintain project information and issues on the N Drive system.Required Skills & Qualifications:

    Proven experience in Contracts management or a Site Manager looking to step up, preferably in timber frame construction or a related field.
    Strong ability to manage contracts and familiarity with project tracking tools.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
    Ability to work independently within the broad directives of the contracts department.
    Proficient in using software tools for project management and documentation.
