How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

PRIMARY SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT VACANVIES – OXFORD 🌟

    Immediate trial days available | Part-time & Full-time | Permanent opportunities

Are you an experienced Primary Teaching Assistant who knows how to build trust with children with SEN?

We are currently recruiting for an exceptional specialist primary school in Oxford, supporting children aged 5–11 with additional needs. The school is looking for TAs who have genuine experience supporting children with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH and challenging behaviour and who understand that positive relationships are at the heart of progress.

💜 A SCHOOL WHERE YOU CAN MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE

This is a school where children are not defined by their needs.

The school's approach is built around happiness, positivity, high expectations, understanding, consistency and nurture, with a strong emphasis on creating a safe, calm and supportive environment where pupils can develop emotionally as well as academically.

The school places huge importance on understanding each child's individual needs, building positive relationships and celebrating every achievement — however small.

And the results speak for themselves..

⭐ Rated OUTSTANDING by Ofsted in June 2024
Ofsted judged the school Outstanding for overall effectiveness, quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.
Inspectors particularly praised the school's warm and inclusive culture, noting that pupils develop a strong sense of belonging and that they feel safe, happy and able to flourish.

    🚆 EXCELLENT TRAIN ACCESS
One of the biggest advantages of this school is its accessibility from across Oxfordshire.
The school is within walking distance of Oxford Railway Station, making it particularly convenient for TAs travelling by train.
You can travel directly into Oxford from stations including:
    Tackley → Oxford
    Heyford → Oxford
    Kings Sutton → Oxford
    Banbury → Oxford
    And from the other direction:
    Radley → Oxford
    Culham → Oxford
    Appleford → Oxford
    Didcot Parkway → Oxford
These stations are all served by direct services along the Oxford rail corridor, meaning no changes are required to reach Oxford.
From Oxford station, the school is approximately a 17-minute walk, making it a realistic option for candidates who rely entirely on public transport.

👩‍🏫 WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are particularly interested in TAs who have:
✔️ Experience working with Primary-aged children
✔️ Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN
✔️ Experience with ASD and/or ADHD
✔️ Confidence supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs
✔️ A calm, patient and consistent approach
✔️ The ability to build strong, trusting relationships
✔️ A genuine desire to help children overcome barriers to learning

Previous specialist-school experience is highly desirable, but the right attitude and relevant SEN experience are what matter most.

⚡ START QUICKLY – IMMEDIATE TRIAL DAYS
For the right applicants, we are in a position to arrange immediate trial days.
To take advantage of this fast-track opportunity, you will need either:
🔹 An Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months – even if it is not currently registered on the Update Service
    OR
🔹 An Enhanced DBS that is registered on the Update Service

This means suitable candidates can potentially get into the school quickly rather than waiting weeks for the recruitment process to progress.

    📅 FLEXIBLE VACANCIES
The school currently has opportunities for:
    Full-time TAs
    Part-time TAs
    Permanent positions
So whether you're looking for a long-term full-time career in SEN education or a part-time role that fits around your existing commitments, there could be an opportunity here for you.

    ❤️ WHY WORK HERE?
This isn't simply another TA position.
You'll be joining a supportive specialist environment where:
🌟 Every pupil is treated as an individual
🌟 Relationships are considered fundamental to progress
    🌟 Staff work collaboratively
🌟 Continuous professional development is encouraged
🌟 Staff wellbeing is taken seriously
🌟 You can make a genuine difference to children's lives every day

The school also highlights a friendly and positive staff team, professional development opportunities, wellbeing and social events, employee benefits and opportunities for progression within its wider multi-academy trust.

If you're an experienced Primary SEN TA and this sounds like the kind of school where you'd thrive, we'd love to hear from you.
