How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Production Engineer
    Salary: £38k-£48k
    Location: Cambridgeshire

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Engineer to join an established and innovative product development business. The company designs and manufactures high-quality, technically complex electro-mechanical products, with a strong focus on quality, reliability and continuous improvement.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a practically minded engineer looking to develop their career across production engineering and test. You’ll work closely with R&D, Production and Operations, helping improve manufacturing processes, develop test solutions and ensure products can be built and tested efficiently and consistently.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Design, build and maintain production test fixtures

    * Support functional testing of electro-mechanical products

    * Install and commission test equipment at external manufacturing partners

    * Develop build sequences, tooling and production aids

    * Support NPI and design reviews

    * Produce test, assembly and manufacturing documentation

    * Work closely with R&D, Production and Operations

    Skills & Experience Required:

    * HNC/HND/BEng in Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

    * Experience in production, test or electronics engineering

    * Knowledge of analogue and digital electronics

    * Ability to read circuit schematics

    * Hands-on electronics assembly and prototyping skills

    * Test fixture or production equipment experience

    * Basic CAD skills advantageous
