How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Pump Service Engineer
    Regional - Multiple Roles
    £35k - £40k Basic + Overtime + Call-Out + Benefits + Vehicle – Door-to-Door

    As a Pump Service Engineer, you will operate in a field-based role, travelling to various commercial, industrial, and domestic client sites across the UK
    You will be responsible for the planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive breakdown response, installation, and commissioning of a wide range of pumping systems and associated equipment – both mechanically and electrically
    You will be responsible for electrical installation of water & sewage pumping station equipment on various sites throughout the UK, performing maintenance and servicing of pumping stations across various industries and sectors
    You will conduct mechanical and electrical fault-finding and resolve issues on site on call outs,
    Key Responsibilities
    * Maintenance & Repair: Carry out mechanical and electrical fault-finding, servicing, and repairs on various pumps (e.g., centrifugal, submersible, sewage pump stations, booster sets, and vacuum pumps).
    * Fault Diagnosis: Inspect, strip down, and analyse faults on pumps, pipework, and rotating equipment both on-site and occasionally within the workshop.
    * Customer Service: Act as the face of the company, providing professional technical advice to clients and maintaining excellent customer relationships.
    * Digital Reporting: Complete accurate service reports, log job details, and upload site photographs using a company-issued mobile PDA or tablet.
    * Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations on all sites, ensuring risk assessments are respected.
    You will have proven experience as a Pump Service Engineer, Mechanical Fitter, or Workshop Engineer working specifically with pumps and rotating equipment.
    Ideally, you will also have a strong multi-skilled background with a mechanical bias and a solid working understanding of electrical components (e.g., control panels, floats, telemetry systems)
