How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Recruitment Consultant – Temporary Staffing

    Poole | Full-time, Permanent | Office based

Competitive salary + Consultant commission scheme + team incentives

Do you enjoy working with people, juggling different priorities and being part of a busy team where everyone gets involved?

We’re looking for a Recruitment Consultant to join our established Poole team, supporting a busy temporary recruitment operation across logistics, transport, warehousing and industrial markets.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining recruitment fulfilment, client and temporary worker liaison, and operational administration. You’ll work closely with our Senior Consultant/Team Leader and wider team to help deliver a first-class service to our clients and temporary workforce.

A key part of the role will be helping to ensure client bookings are successfully filled, identifying gaps early and working with the team to keep fulfilment on track. Candidate sourcing is supported separately within the team, but temporary recruitment can change quickly, so we’re looking for someone who is flexible, proactive and happy to get involved where needed.

At the start of each week, you’ll also play an important role in checking hours, timesheets and associated information to make sure everything is accurate and ready before being submitted to our central Finance and Payroll teams for processing.

What else will you be doing?

    * Helping drive first-class fulfilment across temporary client bookings.

    * Working closely with resourcing support to ensure candidate supply and client demand stay aligned.

    * Maintaining regular contact with clients and providing a responsive, professional service.

    * Supporting temporary workers with day-to-day communication and queries.

    * Checking weekly hours, timesheets and associated payroll information.

    * Maintaining accurate client, worker, booking and compliance information across our systems.

    * Supporting general branch administration and helping keep the day-to-day operation organised.

    * Keeping close to client feedback and changing workforce requirements.

    * Supporting wider recruitment activity when needed.

    * Occasionally joining client visits and wider account activity.

    About You

Previous recruitment experience would be great, but it isn’t essential.

We’re much more interested in finding someone who is driven, organised, flexible and enjoys dealing with people.

You may already work within recruitment, or you could come from client or account management, customer service, logistics, transport, administration or another fast-paced service environment where you’re used to regular customer or client contact.

    You’ll ideally be someone who:

    * Is proactive and likes getting things done.

    * Is a strong communicator who enjoys speaking to different people.

    * Can juggle several priorities while maintaining good attention to detail.

    * Is confident dealing with clients, candidates and temporary workers.

    * Takes ownership and follows things through.

    * Is comfortable with systems, administration and time-sensitive information.

    * Can spot when something needs attention and act or escalate quickly.

    * Works well as part of a small team.

    * Has a positive, practical and solutions-focused approach.

    What’s in it for you?

    * Consultant commission scheme plus team-based incentives and rewards.

    * Work for an independent business owned by the people who work here, with genuine opportunities to grow and develop.

    * Training, mentoring, coaching and wider learning and development opportunities.

    * Support from experienced recruitment, resourcing and central teams.

    * The opportunity to become an important part of our established Poole team.

    Working hours

This is a predominantly office-based role, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm.

We’re a supportive and collaborative business and may be able to offer some flexibility in particular circumstances, by agreement.

    Who are TLP?

We’re a specialist recruitment business built by the people who work here. For over 30 years, we’ve supported clients and candidates across temporary, contract and permanent recruitment, with particular expertise in logistics, transport, warehousing and industrial markets.

If you enjoy being busy, talking to people, solving problems and being part of a team that takes pride in delivering a great service, we’d love to hear from you.

TLP Recruitment acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers. By applying for this position, your personal data will be processed by TLP Recruitment in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which can be found on our website
