How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

    We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Manager to lead and manage the construction of a new build school in Malvern, Worcestershire. The project is scheduled to commence in mid-October 2026 and is expected to last approximately 45 weeks. This role demands a proactive and organised individual who can oversee all aspects of site management to ensure the successful delivery of the education facility within the agreed time frame, budget, and quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead the day-to-day management of the construction site, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
    Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to maintain workflow and productivity.
    Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to communicate updates and resolve issues promptly.
    Manage site resources efficiently, including labour, materials, and equipment, to optimise performance and control costs.
    Ensure all site activities adhere to environmental policies and sustainability objectives relevant to educational construction projects.
    Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
    Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, health and safety documentation, and compliance records.
    Ensure timely delivery of the project milestones in accordance with the construction programme and contract requirements.
    Support the resolution of technical and contractual issues arising during the construction process.

    Required Qualifications and Certifications

    Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification.
    Valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
    First Aid at Work certificate.
    Full, valid driving licence.
    Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

    Education and Experience

    Proven experience as a Site Manager or Senior Site Manager within the construction industry, specifically on new build school or education sector projects.
    Demonstrable track record of successfully delivering projects within agreed timeframes and budgets.
    Strong understanding of construction methodologies, health and safety legislation, and quality management related to educational buildings.

    Knowledge and Skills

    In-depth knowledge of new build school construction processes and education infrastructure requirements.
    Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    Strong organisational and communication abilities to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
    Competence in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
    Proficient in site management software and Microsoft Office applications.

    Working Conditions

    Full-time hours on a contract basis for the duration of the project (approximately 45 weeks).
    Work predominantly on-site in Malvern Link, Worcestershire.
    Occasional requirement to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
    Use of personal protective equipment and adherence to strict health and safety protocols.
    Travel to and from site as required, with a valid driving licence essential.
