How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you an experienced Commercial Air Conditioning & HVAC Engineer looking for a role where your skills are properly rewarded?

    How about £40,000–£60,000, paid door-to-door travel at time and a half, a company van with personal use, a lucrative weekly standby payment and the opportunity to significantly increase your earnings through overtime?

    This is a genuinely varied role where you won't be stuck working on the same equipment or in the same environment every day. You'll visit a diverse range of commercial and industrial sites, working with customers across London and the surrounding areas.

    There is also a genuine opportunity to develop your career into industrial refrigeration, with access to additional training from recognised industry manufacturers if that's the path you wish to take.

    The Role

    You'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing and commissioning commercial air conditioning, HVAC and refrigeration systems across multiple customer sites.

    The environments are varied and can include pharmaceutical facilities, offices, council sites, nurseries, care homes, cafés, theatres, factories and other commercial premises.

    Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

    * Servicing, maintaining, repairing and commissioning commercial Air Con, HVAC and refrigeration systems

    * Diagnosing faults, troubleshooting and carrying out system diagnostics

    * Completing planned preventative maintenance, routine inspections and reactive breakdown work

    * Responding to service calls and customer requirements

    * Carrying out refrigerant recovery, evacuation, leak detection and charging in accordance with F-Gas regulations

    * Completing service reports and communicating findings clearly to customers and management

    * Identifying opportunities to improve system performance, reliability and energy efficiency

    * Maintaining high standards of health and safety and compliance and supporting junior engineers or apprentices when required

    What We're Looking For

    You'll ideally be a commercially experienced engineer with a strong practical understanding of air conditioning, HVAC systems, controls and associated equipment.

    You'll need:

    * 3–5 years' experience in Air Conditioning, HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

    * Valid F-Gas certification

    * Strong commercial Air Con and HVAC experience, including split, multi-split, VRF/VRV and associated HVAC equipment

    * Good refrigeration principles, fault-finding and diagnostic knowledge

    * Experience carrying out both PPM and reactive breakdown work

    * The ability to work independently across multiple customer sites

    * Excellent communication and customer service skills

    * A professional approach to health and safety

    * A full UK driving licence

    Experience working across offices, retail, hospitality, leisure, healthcare, pharmaceutical, industrial or other commercial environments would be highly advantageous.

    Additional qualifications such as IPAF, electrical testing, CSCS, Asbestos Awareness or Ladder Card would also be beneficial.

    What's In It For You?

    The salary is £40,000–£60,000 depending on experience, and this is where the package becomes particularly attractive:

    * Time and a half Monday–Saturday overtime

    * Double time Sundays and Bank Holidays

    * Door-to-door travel paid at time and a half

    * Plenty of overtime available, giving you the opportunity to increase your OTE

    * Lucrative weekly standby payment

    * Company van with personal use

    * Company phone and tablet

    * 25 days' holiday + Bank Holidays

    * Private Medical Insurance

    * Death in Service Life Insurance

    * Employee Assistance Programme

    * Salary sacrifice pension

    * Company tools as required

    Develop Your Skills

    Want to do more than just commercial Air Con?

    For engineers who want to broaden their experience, there is the opportunity to develop into industrial refrigeration, opening the door to more specialist engineering work and further career progression.

    Location

    The role is primarily covering London and the surrounding areas, with engineers ideally based around London, Crawley, Wimbledon or Greenford. There are also opportunities extending further north as far as the Derby area.

    There will be travel to customer sites, with the majority of the work being local to your area.

    Ready for a better engineering role?

    If you're an experienced Commercial Air Con / HVAC Engineer looking for better earning potential, paid door-to-door travel, a van for personal use, excellent benefits and the chance to develop your career into industrial refrigeration, this could be a great next move.
