How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    HR Business Partner
    London & South East
    £65,000 + Car Allowance
    Remote / Hybrid Working
    Regional Travel Required

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Business Partner to join a large, established and rapidly evolving organisation, with this role covering multiple locations throughout London and the South East region.

This is a highly visible, operational HR role supporting approximately 1,000 colleagues across a diverse portfolio of contracts and locations. You will work closely with Regional Directors, senior operational leaders and contract managers, providing commercially focused HR support across employee relations, TUPE, organisational change, workforce planning, talent and manager capability.

This is not a purely corporate or desk-based HRBP position. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, field-based environment, building relationships with managers across multiple sites and being visible across the region.

    The Opportunity

The role represents an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to take ownership of a significant regional remit while working as part of a supportive and collaborative wider HR function.

The organisation is continuing to evolve through new contract wins, mobilisation activity, organisational change and business growth. As a result, the HRBP will play a key role in helping operational leaders navigate change while ensuring effective people practices are embedded across the region.

    Key Responsibilities
Partner with Regional Directors, senior leaders and operational managers across the London & South East region.

Provide proactive, commercially focused HR advice across a broad range of people matters.

Lead and support complex employee relations cases, including performance, absence, disciplinary, grievance and capability matters.

Coach and develop managers to improve their confidence and capability in handling people issues.

Lead and support TUPE activity, including mobilisations, transfers, due diligence, consultation and post-transfer employee relations.

Support organisational change, restructuring, redundancy and workforce planning activity.

Provide HR input into tenders, contract mobilisation and re-tendering activity.

Use people data and metrics to identify trends, challenges and opportunities across the region.

Support recruitment, retention, engagement, talent development and succession planning.

Work closely with the regional HR Advisor, providing coaching, guidance and support to strengthen the overall HR service.

Contribute to wider HR projects and the organisation's people plan.

Build strong relationships with managers and colleagues across a predominantly operational and field-based workforce.

    About You

We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner who is comfortable rolling their sleeves up and getting involved, who is self motivated and able to manage there own diary.

    You will ideally bring:

At least 5 years' HR experience, with strong HRBP/generalist exposure.

Significant experience working within fast-paced, multi-site operational environments.

Strong and demonstrable TUPE experience, including post-transfer employee relations.

Experience of service provision changes, particularly where services have transferred between contractors and/or local authorities.

Strong employee relations experience, including complex case management.

A good working knowledge of UK employment legislation.

Experience partnering with and influencing operational managers and senior stakeholders.

Experience of working with or alongside Trade Unions is advantageous.

Previous experience managing, mentoring or developing junior HR professionals.

The confidence and flexibility to work across multiple locations and contracts.

This role will suit someone who enjoys being close to the operation and making a tangible difference.

You will be proactive, approachable and commercially minded, with the confidence to challenge managers when required while remaining solutions-focused.

You will need to be comfortable managing a varied workload, working with a high degree of autonomy and making decisions without needing constant direction.

    Location & Travel

The role offers Remote / Hybrid working, with the flexibility to work from home when between site visits.

This is a highly mobile regional position and regular travel across London and the South East is an essential part of the role. You will be expected to manage your own diary, visit operational sites, meet managers and maintain a visible presence across the region.
