How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Excellent Benefits | Northamptonshire

Relocation Package | UK Visa Sponsorship | International Applicants Welcome

Are you a Semiconductor Equipment Engineer ready for your next challenge?

This could be an exceptional opportunity to work with some of the most advanced semiconductor manufacturing and epitaxy equipment in the UK.

Our client is a global developer and manufacturer of advanced optical and photonic technologies, supporting markets including semiconductors, telecommunications, data communications, sensing and advanced industrial applications.

The business is experiencing significant growth and has invested heavily in new manufacturing capability and state-of-the-art epitaxy equipment. With new equipment being installed and commissioned, they are looking for an experienced Senior / Principal Semiconductor Equipment Engineer to play a key technical role within their Northamptonshire operation.

This role could suit you if your current title is:
Senior Semiconductor Equipment Engineer | Semiconductor Equipment Engineer | Epitaxy Equipment Engineer | Process Equipment Engineer | Semiconductor Manufacturing Engineer | Equipment Reliability Engineer | Epitaxy Engineer | Senior Equipment Engineer

    The opportunity

This is much more than a traditional maintenance position.

You'll take a senior technical role supporting the reliability, performance, installation, commissioning and continuous improvement of complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Working closely with Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Technicians, suppliers and specialist contractors, you'll help maximise equipment uptime while supporting the continued development of a high-growth semiconductor manufacturing facility.

You'll work with advanced MOVPE, MOCVD and epitaxy equipment, alongside complex vacuum, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and control systems.

    What you'll be doing

    You'll be responsible for:

    * Maintaining, troubleshooting and improving complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

    * Supporting MOVPE, MOCVD and epitaxy equipment used for advanced wafer growth.

    * Diagnosing and resolving complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum and control-system faults.

    * Developing preventative maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and uptime.

    * Leading equipment reliability, upgrade and continuous improvement projects.

    * Supporting the installation, commissioning, relocation and optimisation of new capital equipment.

    * Working with high-vacuum systems, reactors, turbo pumps, pneumatics and PLC-controlled equipment.

    * Supporting semiconductor process gas systems and working safely with hazardous gases and chemicals.

    * Working with equipment manufacturers, suppliers, contractors and specialist service engineers.

    * Supporting shutdowns, major maintenance activities and emergency technical response.

    * Helping develop and improve equipment maintenance processes as the manufacturing operation continues to scale.

    About you

We're interested in experienced engineers who enjoy getting to the bottom of complex technical problems and who want to work at the cutting edge of semiconductor manufacturing.

    You should have:

    * 5+ years' experience within semiconductor manufacturing, wafer fabrication, epitaxy or a similarly complex advanced engineering environment.

    * An HNC, degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

    * Strong electrical engineering knowledge, including low and high-voltage systems.

    * Experience working with complex semiconductor manufacturing or process equipment.

    * Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability across electro-mechanical systems.

    * Experience with vacuum technology, pumps, reactors, pneumatics and PLC/control systems.

    * The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

    * Experience working safely with hazardous gases and chemicals.

    * Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

    Your experience could include

You don't necessarily need to have spent your entire career specifically within epitaxy.

We're particularly interested in engineers with experience across:

Semiconductor Equipment | Wafer Fab Equipment | Epitaxy | MOVPE | MOCVD | MBE | CVD | Thin Film Deposition | Process Equipment | Equipment Reliability | Vacuum Systems | Semiconductor Manufacturing

Experience with equipment from manufacturers such as Aixtron, Veeco, ASML, SPTS Technologies, Palomar or similar would be advantageous.

Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, factory expansion or major capital projects would also be highly valued.

    Why consider this opportunity?

This is an opportunity to join a high-growth, high-technology semiconductor business at an exciting stage of its development.

    You'll have the opportunity to:

Work with advanced semiconductor and epitaxy equipment

    Take genuine technical ownership

Be involved in new equipment installation and commissioning

Lead reliability and continuous improvement projects

Develop your career within a growing global technology business

Work alongside highly experienced engineering and manufacturing teams

And importantly, full relocation support and UK Visa sponsorship are available for the successful international candidate.

    Ready for your next move?

If you're a Senior Semiconductor Equipment Engineer, Epitaxy Engineer, Process Equipment Engineer or experienced semiconductor manufacturing engineer looking for a technically challenging role with genuine career progression, we'd love to hear from you
