How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Commercial Development Executive | London | Up to £85,000 + Commission

    Join an established commercial brokerage in London and take the lead on building your own book of business, with some existing clients to get you started, strong broking support behind you and commission rewarding the business you bring in.

    This is a development-focused role for an experienced commercial insurance professional who enjoys winning new clients and wants the autonomy to build something of their own. You will inherit some existing business, but the long-term goal is clear: develop new relationships, grow your portfolio and establish a sizeable book within the London market.

    Salary: Up to £85,000 + commission
    Location: London
    Working pattern: Hybrid

    What you'll be doing

    Developing new commercial insurance business and building your own portfolio
    Taking over a selection of existing clients to give you a strong starting point
    Generating opportunities through networking, referrals and your existing market relationships
    Meeting clients, understanding their businesses and advising on their insurance requirements
    Working closely with an experienced broking team to negotiate with insurers and place risks
    Managing and developing client relationships as your book grows
    Identifying opportunities to increase revenue across both new and existing accounts
