How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Technical Administrator | Hailsham
    Hybrid
    £25,000-£30,000 depending on experience

A well-established St. James's Place financial planning practice in Hailsham is looking for a Technical Administrator to join its growing team.

You'll work closely with advisers, colleagues and clients, managing the day-to-day administration of the practice and making sure work is progressing, deadlines are met and clients receive a consistently high level of service.

It's a varied role, so you'll need to be comfortable managing multiple priorities rather than working through the same process every day. Strong organisation and attention to detail are important, but so is common sense, a confident telephone manner and the ability to take ownership when something needs sorting.

    What you'll be doing

→ Acting as a key point of contact for clients and colleagues
→ Managing a varied workload and keeping different tasks moving to deadline
→ Supporting advisers and the wider practice with day-to-day administration
→ Coordinating with different areas of the business where work overlaps
→ Keeping clients updated and delivering a consistently high level of service
→ Supporting the wider team with changing priorities and ad-hoc requirements

    What we're looking for
You'll ideally have previous experience in an administrative or operational role within financial services.

Experience with St. James's Place would be a strong advantage, particularly if you already understand the systems, processes and pace of an SJP practice.

Knowledge of pensions, investments, protection or estate planning is useful, but not essential. What matters more is that you're organised, proactive, willing to learn and comfortable taking ownership of your work.

    What's on offer
    → £25,000–£30,000 depending on experience
→ 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
→ Flexible working pattern between 9am and 5pm
    → 30 days' holiday + bank holidays
    → Employer pension contribution
    → Private healthcare after probation
    → Paid CII membership
→ Full support towards professional qualifications
→ The opportunity to develop within an established and growing financial planning practice

If you're already working in financial services and looking for a role where you can build on your experience, or you have strong transferable administration experience and want to move into the sector, we'd be interested in hearing from you
