How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Join one of the UK's leading data centre contractors as a Senior Electrical Engineer on a flagship data centre project in London. In this role, you will be part of a progressive and highly respected contractor with a strong track record of delivering complex, technically demanding projects across multiple sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer looking to establish or further develop their career within the rapidly expanding London data centre sector, which continues to experience significant long-term investment and demand. With a strong pipeline of secured projects, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a key role in the company's continued growth and the successful delivery of major projects across London and the UK.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a proactive approach, and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions across sectors such as data centres, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, commercial, and mission-critical projects. Previous data centre experience would be highly beneficial, although candidates with experience across other large-scale industrial, commercial, or mission-critical projects will also be considered.
    Responsibilities
    * Produce and maintain accurate project engineering reports to monitor progress, key milestones, technical deliverables, and deadlines in support of the wider project team.
    * Review and become fully familiar with all design documentation, IFC drawings, specifications, and technical requirements to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project scope.
    * Oversee the design coordination process and work closely with BIM teams to develop detailed installation drawings in accordance with project specifications and programme requirements.
    * Support the installation and delivery teams in maintaining the highest quality standards on site, ensuring all works comply with relevant UK regulations, standards, project specifications, and quality procedures.
    * Review subcontractor and supplier tender submissions to assess technical compliance with the project design intent, specifications, and engineering requirements.
    * Work closely with the project, commercial, procurement, and construction teams to ensure all engineering activities, including procurement, technical submissions, installation, and commissioning, remain aligned with the overall project programme.
    * Manage the technical submittal process, including technical submissions, RFIs, approvals, technical queries, and document tracking, ensuring all information is submitted and approved within the required timescales.
    * Ensure all electrical installations are completed in accordance with project specifications, UK standards, QA procedures, inspection and testing requirements, and commissioning procedures.
    * Coordinate and manage electrical subcontractors and suppliers, maintaining effective communication and ensuring works progress in line with the project programme and weekly coordination requirements.
    * Attend and contribute to design, technical, coordination, progress, and commissioning meetings, ensuring actions are effectively managed and closed out.
    * Identify and implement innovative engineering methods and processes that improve efficiency, quality, safety, and project delivery.
    * Assist with the preparation of subcontractor and supplier tender packages in conjunction with the commercial, procurement, and quantity surveying teams.
    * Support the project team during testing, commissioning, and handover, ensuring all electrical systems are fully tested, documented, and delivered in accordance with project requirements.
    Requirements
    * Minimum of 5 years' experience working with a recognised electrical contractor on large-scale construction projects.
    * Previous data centre, mission-critical, industrial, pharmaceutical, or large-scale commercial project experience would be advantageous.
    * Strong knowledge of electrical construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and technical coordination.
    * Good understanding of relevant UK electrical regulations, standards, specifications, and health and safety requirements.
    * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities within fast-paced construction environments.
    * Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    * Proficient in Navisworks and relevant engineering/project document management systems.
    * Good understanding of project planning software, such as Primavera P6, along with experience working within CAD/BIM environments.
    * Ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, BIM teams, commercial teams, and site management.
    What's on Offer
    * Competitive London-based salary and comprehensive benefits package.
    * Opportunity to work on a high-profile, technically challenging data centre project in London.
    * Exposure to major mission-critical and data centre infrastructure projects and leading industry professionals.
    * Collaborative and forward-thinking working environment focused on technical excellence, innovation, and professional development.
    * Excellent long-term career progression and training opportunities within a rapidly expanding sector.
    * Opportunity to develop your career within the UK's growing data centre and mission-critical construction market.
