How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Head Office – Kings Lynn, Norfolk
    Our client is a well-established electrical engineering business delivering projects across the food & beverage and warehousing sectors.
    Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an Electrical Estimator or Junior Electrical Estimator, depending on experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to take on a varied workload, or for a Junior Estimator looking to develop their career within a successful and growing business.
    The Role as Electrical Estimator
    You will be responsible for producing accurate, competitive and high-quality electrical estimates from tender drawings, specifications and site surveys.
    Projects can range from approximately £5,000 to £2 million, giving you exposure to a wide variety of electrical projects and packages.

    * Reviewing project requirements and identifying materials, labour and associated costs
    * Preparing accurate and competitive quotations
    * Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing
    * Working closely with the project and engineering teams
    * Reviewing drawings and identifying potential issues, variations and cost implications
    * Supporting the tender process from initial enquiry through to submission
    * Ensuring estimates are accurate, commercially viable and delivered within required timescales
    Electrical Packages
    Typical electrical packages include, but are not limited to:
    * LV Distribution & Power
    * Containment Systems
    * General & Emergency Lighting
    * HV Systems
    * Fire Alarm Systems
    * Data & Communication Systems
    * CCTV
    * Access Control
    * Associated electrical installation works
    About You
    For the Senior/Experienced Estimator position, you will ideally have a proven background in electrical estimating and a strong understanding of commercial electrical installations.
    Experience within the food & beverage and/or warehousing sectors is essential.
    For the Junior Estimator position, we are looking for someone with a genuine interest in developing a career within electrical estimating. You may already have some estimating, electrical engineering, design or project experience and be looking for the next step in your career.
    You will ideally have:
    * Electrical estimating experience, or relevant electrical engineering/project experience for the Junior position
    * Good understanding of electrical installation methods and systems
    * Experience working from electrical drawings and specifications
    * Strong attention to detail and accuracy
    * Good commercial awareness
    * Ability to work to deadlines
    * Good communication and organisational skills
    * A proactive approach and willingness to learn
    Career Development
    The Junior Estimator position offers genuine career progression and training, with the opportunity to develop your estimating knowledge and take on increasingly complex projects and responsibilities.
    For the right individual, this could be an excellent long-term career opportunity within a growing electrical engineering business.
    Salary
    * Junior Electrical Estimator: £35,000+ depending on experience
    * Experienced/Senior Electrical Estimator: up to £65,000 depending on experience
    The exact salary will be determined by your experience, technical knowledge and level of responsibility.
    If you are an experienced Electrical Estimator looking for a new challenge, or a Junior Estimator looking for the opportunity to develop your career, we'd love to hear from you
