This is a hands-on, onsite role (Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm) where you’ll take responsibility for maintaining and continually improving the Health & Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO 45001 and UK Health & Safety legislation.
Working across a busy engineering, manufacturing and warehousing environment, you’ll partner with managers and employees throughout the business, providing practical advice and helping to drive a positive and proactive safety culture.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll manage and continually improve the Health & Safety Management System, support ISO 45001 compliance and internal/external audits, and monitor changes to relevant UK legislation.
Day to day, you’ll carry out workplace inspections and compliance checks, investigate incidents and near misses, facilitate risk assessments, COSHH assessments, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work, and review contractor RAMS.
You’ll also deliver Health & Safety training and toolbox talks, coordinate the H&S committee, support fire safety and emergency preparedness, and produce reports and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
What we’re looking for
You’ll need:

NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
*
IOSH membership, ideally TechIOSH or working towards
*
Around 3+ years’ experience within Health & Safety
*
Experience supporting or managing Health & Safety Management Systems
*
Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
*
Experience with accident and incident investigation and root cause analysis
*
Confidence delivering training and toolbox talks
*
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels
Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or warehousing environment would be particularly valuable, along with knowledge of ISO 45001, contractor management, RAMS and permit-to-work processes.
An Internal Auditor qualification or NEBOSH Diploma would also be advantageous.
