How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position: Workshop Plant Fitter
    Hours: Monday to Friday – 7:30am to 5:00pm
    Salary: £44,642
    Overtime paid at 1.4

    An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Plant Fitter to join a large and reputable plant company. This is a workshop-based role maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing a wide range of heavy plant machinery and equipment, ensuring all machinery is maintained to the highest standards and is safe and fit for purpose.

    The Role:
    Carry out routine maintenance and servicing on heavy plant machinery and equipment
    Conduct mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs
    Complete component rebuilds, strip-downs, and refurbishment of machinery and plant equipment
    Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools
    Carry out safety inspections and pre-hire checks
    Ensure all equipment complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
    Maintain accurate service and repair recordsThe Ideal Candidate:
    Professionally recognised qualification in Heavy Vehicle/Plant Maintenance and Repair, such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent
    Relevant experience in a similar role within the last 2 years
    Experience working on heavy plant machinery or similar equipment within a workshop environment
    Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge
    Confident with fault finding and diagnostics
    Full UK driving licence
    CSCS Card advantageous but not essentialWhat’s on Offer:
