How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Product Designer to join a well-established health research organisation and charity supporting large-scale medical research to improve disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

As a Senior Product Designer, you will design accessible, user-focused digital experiences while contributing across the full design process, from understanding user needs through to prototyping, testing and delivery.

This is a 6-month contract-based role offering hybrid / remote working options, salary range of £500 - £600 (DOE) per day (Inside IR35) and benefits.

    You Will Be Responsible For

Leading UX and UI design work across discovery, development and validation.
Designing clear and accessible journeys that help users understand and respond to research opportunities.
Creating prototypes, testing ideas and refining designs based on evidence and feedback.
Working closely with product managers, researchers, content designers, behavioural specialists and engineers.
Turning user research and stakeholder insight into practical, intuitive design solutions.
Designing clear experiences for healthcare information, recommendations and research-related content.
Helping improve consistency across related services, including shared design approaches and practices.
Working with clinical, technical, product and business stakeholders to shape design recommendations.
Explaining design choices, thinking and findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Applying design systems, accessibility standards and ethical considerations throughout the design process.
Contributing to product priorities, roadmaps and the wider design direction.

The candidates from the following background will be considered:

Previously worked as a Senior Product Designer, Product Designer, Senior UX/UI Designer, Senior UI/UX Designer, Lead Product Designer, Digital Product Designer, Product Design Lead or in a similar role.

    What We Are Looking For:

    Essential:

Proven experience working as a Product Designer within modern digital product environments.
Strong end-to-end UX and UI design experience, covering discovery, prototyping, validation and delivery.
Experience working closely with content designers and user researchers.
A track record of tackling complex user needs and working effectively where requirements may be unclear.
A strong portfolio demonstrating impactful, user-centred digital product design.
Ability to turn research findings into meaningful improvements to digital experiences.
Strong working knowledge of Figma and Miro.
Experience working within cross-functional Agile product teams.
A good understanding of accessibility and inclusive design, including experience designing beyond minimum WCAG 2.2 AA requirements.

    Desirable:

Experience designing products, platforms or services within healthcare, research, government or other service-led environments.
Prior experience working in regulated environments.
Understanding of behavioural design and techniques that encourage user engagement.
Experience contributing to design systems and scalable design practices

This is a great opportunity for a Senior Product Designer to make a meaningful contribution to accessible, user-centred digital services.
