How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Fire Risk Assessor | London

    A specialist fire safety consultancy is seeking an experienced Fire Risk Assessor at Tier 2 or Tier 3 level to join their growing team. This opportunity would suit a technically strong Fire Risk Assessor who is confident working independently, producing high-quality reports and dealing directly with clients and duty holders.

    The successful Fire Risk Assessor will have the opportunity to thrive in a dedicated London based team that offers a strong, long term career progression.

    The Fire Risk Assessor's Role

    Undertake detailed fire risk assessments across a varied UK portfolio
    Work independently on site and manage assessments from survey through to final report
    Produce clear, technically robust fire risk assessment reports
    Identify fire safety risks, deficiencies and appropriate remedial actions
    Advise clients and duty holders on fire safety legislation and best practice
    Communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
    Maintain strong client relationships and provide a professional consultancy service
    Keep up to date with changes in legislation, guidance and industry standards
    Travel regularly to client sites across the UKThe Fire Risk Assessor

    The successful Fire Risk Assessor should ideally have:

    Around 5 years' experience within fire safety consultancy, compliance or risk management
    Tier 3 fire risk assessment capability
    Tier 3 status with IFSM, progression towards Tier 3, or inclusion on the IFE Fire Risk Assessors Register
    NEBOSH Fire, NEBOSH Health & Safety or an equivalent qualification
    Membership of IOSH, IFE or IFSM
    Strong technical knowledge of UK fire safety legislation
    Excellent report writing and communication skills
    A professional, client-facing approach
    Full UK driving licence and willingness to travelIn Return?
