How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Maintenance Engineer
    Stourbridge
    £40,000 + Overtime
    40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
    Days - staggered working hours between 5:00am and 5:00pm

    The Opportunity
    We are supporting an established heavy engineering and manufacturing business that is looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer/ Electrician to join its engineering team.
    This is a hands-on position responsible for maintaining, fault finding and improving a wide range of manufacturing plant and equipment.
    The successful candidate will work as part of the engineering team to maximise plant reliability, minimise downtime and support continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation.

    Key Responsibilities
    As Electrical Maintenance Engineer/ Electrician, you will:
    - Carry out electrical fault finding, diagnosis and repair on manufacturing machinery and associated plant.
    - Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
    - Install, maintain, test and repair electrical equipment and machinery.
    - Fault find on electrical control circuits, three-phase power supplies and AC/DC systems.
    - Read and interpret electrical drawings, circuit diagrams and PLC/Ladder diagrams.
    - Maintain motors, switches, wiring and other electrical equipment.
    - Diagnose equipment failures and implement effective repairs to minimise production downtime.
    - Support the development and improvement of PPM schedules and maintenance systems.
    - Identify root causes of recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
    - Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, performance, output and OEE.
    - Support electrical installation and improvement projects across the site.
    - Supervise contractors where required, including reviewing RAMS and permits to work.
    - Carry out checks and maintenance relating to emergency lighting and fire alarm systems.
    - Support continuous improvement and plant optimisation projects.
    - Assist with the management of critical engineering spares.
    - Liaise with suppliers and contractors when required.
    - Work closely with Production and Engineering colleagues to maintain safe and efficient plant operation.
    - Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures.

    Essential Experience
    To be considered for this position, you should have:
    - Previous electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing, industrial or heavy engineering environment.
    - An electrical apprenticeship or equivalent recognised electrical qualification.
    - Minimum 17th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
    - Strong electrical fault-finding skills.
    - Experience working with three-phase electrical systems.
    - Experience with electrical control circuits and AC/DC systems.
    - The ability to read electrical drawings and circuit diagrams.
    - PLC fault-finding knowledge and the ability to read Ladder Logic.
    - Experience maintaining and repairing industrial/manufacturing machinery.
    - A proactive approach to PPM, reliability and continuous improvement.
    - The ability to work independently and diagnose faults under pressure.
    - A strong commitment to Health & Safety.

    The Candidate
    This position would suit an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Industrial Electrician, Electrical Technician or Multi-Skilled Engineer with a strong electrical bias who enjoys working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
    You should be comfortable fault finding independently, working on industrial machinery and taking ownership of electrical maintenance issues from diagnosis through to repair.
    The role operates across a busy manufacturing environment, so flexibility around overtime and occasional weekend working will be required.

    Advantageous Experience
    Any of the following would be beneficial:
    - Siemens S7 PLC experience.
    - IPAF / MEWP certification.
    - Working at Height.
    - Confined Space training.
    - Hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
    - Crane, lifting and slinging experience.
    - Forklift licence.
    - First Aid or Fire Safety training.
    - Experience improving OEE and reducing recurring plant downtime
