How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Do you know your seafood, love talking to customers and fancy taking your career in a more commercial direction?

I’m looking for an Inside Sales Account Manager to join an established food business supplying high-quality products to professional customers across the hospitality and foodservice sector.

This is an office-based sales role, so if you enjoy picking up the phone, building relationships and winning business, you’ll be right at home here.

You’ll spend a large part of your day speaking with chefs and hospitality customers, understanding what they need, recommending products and looking for opportunities to grow sales. You’ll manage existing accounts, re-engage customers, generate new business and become someone customers know and trust.

    What makes this role different?

Product knowledge really matters. You’ll need to understand fish and seafood and be confident talking to chefs about products, quality, availability and what works for their menus.

You might already be working in seafood wholesale, foodservice or hospitality, or perhaps you’re a Chef or Sous Chef who knows the industry inside out and is ready to swap the kitchen for a commercial role.

    You’ll be:

    * Managing and developing existing customer accounts

    * Making regular outbound calls and generating new business

    * Speaking with chefs and hospitality customers throughout the day

    * Understanding customer requirements and recommending the right products

    * Identifying opportunities to increase sales and customer spend

    * Re-engaging lapsed customers and developing new relationships

    * Keeping customers informed about products, availability and opportunities

    * Working closely with the wider sales and operations teams

    You’ll need:

    * Good knowledge of fish and seafood

    * Confidence and enthusiasm for making outbound sales calls

    * Strong communication and relationship-building skills

    * A genuine interest in food and the hospitality industry

    * A proactive, commercially minded approach

    * The ability to build rapport quickly and turn conversations into sales

Seafood experience is ideal, but we’d also love to hear from chefs or experienced hospitality professionals who have the product knowledge and personality to make the move into sales.

If you’re looking for a role where your knowledge of food actually matters, you enjoy talking to people and you’re ready to build a career in sales and account management, this could be a very good move.

And yes, you really do need to know your sea bass from your sea bream!
