How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Voids Labourer
    Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
    Job Category: Property Services
    Location: Oxford
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 am - 5:00 pm
    Pay Rate: £16.50 per hour

    We have an opportunity for a reliable and hardworking Void Labourer to join a social housing contractor in Oxford. In this role, you will support void property refurbishment and maintenance works, helping to ensure homes are safe, well-maintained, and ready for residents.

    Responsibilities:

    Carrying out general labouring duties within empty social housing properties.
    Preparing properties for re-letting by clearing rubbish, debris, and unwanted items.
    Removing and disposing of old fixtures, fittings, flooring, and materials.
    Loading, unloading, and transporting tools, equipment, and materials safely.
    Carrying out basic repairs and making-good works where required.
    Keeping work areas clean, tidy, and free from hazards.
    Ensuring properties are being left clean, safe, and ready for re-letting.
    Following health and safety procedures and using PPE correctly.
    Reporting damage, defects, hazards, and additional works to the supervisor.
    Working to agreed schedules and property turnaround targets.
    Completing tasks to a high standard and in line with contractor requirements.
    Liaising professionally with supervisors, tradespeople, and other team members.
    Ensuring tools, materials, and equipment are being used and stored safely.Requirements:

    Full UK Driving Licence (manual)
    Asbestos Awareness, UKATA or IATP
