How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Clinical Psychologist – Children & Young People (ASD Service)

    Location: Staffordshire
    Hours: Full-time
    Salary: Up to £60,000

    We're working alongside a specialist autism service based in Staffordshire, who are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join their multidisciplinary team, primarily supporting children aged 4–11, with some work with young people up to the age of 25.

    You will carry out specialist autism assessments, working closely with children, families and other professionals to build a clear understanding of each individual's needs. You will contribute to diagnostic decisions, clinical formulation and recommendations, while providing clear reports and sensitive feedback to families.

    Alongside assessment work, you will support interventions, workshops and wider MDT discussions, as well as contributing to clinical governance, risk management and service development.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Complete autism assessments using a range of clinical information and assessment methods.
    • Contribute to diagnostic decision-making and clinical formulation.
    • Produce clear assessment reports and provide feedback to families.
    • Provide psychological advice and support to families and other professionals.
    • Contribute to interventions, workshops and MDT meetings.
    • Support risk management, outcome monitoring and service development.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist ASD service where you can make a meaningful difference to children, young people and their families, while working within a collaborative clinical team.

    Experience & Qualifications:

    • HCPC registered Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychologist.
    • Experience assessing and diagnosing autism in children and young people.
    • Experience working with children, families and individuals with complex needs.
    • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
    • Experience using psychological assessments, observations and structured interviews.
    • Strong skills in clinical formulation, assessment and report writing.
    • Experience providing training, teaching and/or supervision.
    • Good understanding of risk assessment and management.
    • Ability to communicate sensitively when working with complex or emotive situations.
