How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Manual / Conventional Machinist – XYZ Axis

    Pay Rate: £15.00 – £15.50 per hour
    Hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:00am–5:00pm
    Location: Stoke

    We are looking for an experienced Manual / Conventional Machinist to join our manufacturing team, working with XYZ Axis machinery.

    This is a hands-on position suited to an experienced machinist with a strong manufacturing background, good attention to detail and the ability to work confidently from engineering drawings.

    The Role

    *

    Operating manual / conventional XYZ Axis machinery

    *

    Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

    *

    Setting and machining components accurately to specification

    *

    Selecting appropriate tooling and machining methods

    *

    Carrying out measurements and quality checks

    *

    Troubleshooting and resolving practical machining issues

    *

    Working to production targets and deadlines

    *

    Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment

    The Ideal Candidate

    *

    Previous experience as a Manual / Conventional Machinist

    *

    Experience working with XYZ Axis machinery

    *

    Confident in reading and interpreting engineering drawings

    *

    Solid background in a manufacturing environment

    *

    Strong practical and problem-solving skills

    *

    Hands-on approach with good attention to detail

    *

    Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

    *

    Reliable, hardworking and able to use initiative

    *

    Quality-focused with a pride in producing accurate work

    Working Hours & Pay

    Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 5:00pm
    £15.00 – £15.50 per hour, depending on experience
