How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Miller Setter Operator

    An established precision engineering company within the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Miller Setter Operator to join their growing machining team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy workshop environment producing high-quality components for a range of industrial sectors.

    The Role

    As a Miller Setter Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating milling machinery to manufacture components to precise engineering drawings and specifications. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring products are produced efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Setting and operating CNC milling machines.
    Producing components to engineering drawings and tolerances.
    Conducting first-off and in-process quality inspections.
    Making tool and offset adjustments where required.
    Ensuring machines are running efficiently and safely.
    Maintaining a clean and organised working environment.
    Working closely with the production and quality teams to meet delivery targets.Candidate Requirements

    Essential Skills

    Previous experience as a Miller Setter Operator.
    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
    Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling.
    Experience working within a precision engineering environment.
    Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.Desirable Skills

    Experience programming CNC milling machines.
    Knowledge of quality inspection equipment including verniers, micrometers and gauges.
    Experience working with a variety of engineering materials.The Ideal Candidate
