How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position: BIM Manager
    Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
    Salary: £50,000 to £65,000 DOE
    Working Arrangement: Office Based / Flexible Working
    Employment Type: Permanent

    An experienced BIM & Digital Design Manager is required to join an award-winning international architectural practice in a newly created position. This is a significant appointment for the business, created to provide dedicated leadership across BIM, computational design, digital workflows and emerging technologies across its studios.

    This is much broader than a traditional BIM coordination position. Reporting to a Partner but operating with considerable autonomy, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape how the practice designs and delivers projects digitally, taking ownership of BIM standards, Revit and Forma environments, information management, automation and emerging technologies including AI and digital twins. There may also be scope to develop a wider digital/BIM team around the successful individual as the function evolves.

    BIM Manager Salary & Benefits

    Salary £50,000 to £65,000
    4.5-day working week, including a shorter Friday.

    BIM Design Manager Job Overview

    Lead BIM and computational design standards and workflows across multiple studios.
    Drive the adoption and development of Autodesk Revit and Forma.
    Lead BIM implementation including project setup, shared coordinates, model federation, auditing and multidisciplinary coordination.
    Own practice-wide BIM standards, templates, model structures and quality assurance.
    Lead Autodesk Construction Cloud / Autodesk Docs workflows and information exchange.
    Manage BIM and information management requirements including BIM Execution Plans, responsibility matrices and information delivery planning.
    Support and drive compliance with ISO 19650.
    Identify opportunities for automation and scripting to improve project delivery and efficiency.
    Maintain and develop script registers and template libraries.
    Support project teams across all RIBA stages, acting as the escalation point for complex BIM and digital delivery issues.
    Deliver Revit and computational design training and lead internal user groups.
    Work alongside IT and AI teams to evaluate and introduce new digital technologies.
    Help develop the practice's approach to digital twins, GIS, live building data and long-term asset information.
    Explore practical applications of AI and computational design across architectural project delivery.

    BIM Manager Job Requirements

    5+ years' experience within BIM Management, Digital Design or a related role within architectural practice or the wider design industry.
    Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Revit, with experience managing BIM delivery on complex projects.
    Good working knowledge of Rhino.
    Strong understanding of BIM and information management processes.
    Experience producing and managing BIM Execution Plans and working to ISO 19650.
    Strong Autodesk Construction Cloud / Autodesk Docs experience.
    Experience with model coordination, auditing and multidisciplinary information exchange.
    Previous responsibility for BIM standards, templates and technology adoption across multiple teams or offices.
    Experience or strong interest in computational design, scripting and automation.
    Strong interest in AI and emerging digital technologies within architecture and construction.
    Excellent communication, training and coaching skills.
    Able to work autonomously and drive the adoption of new standards and processes across a business.
