How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Construction Manager

    Role Overview

    An experienced Mechanical Construction Manager is required to join the project team on-site in Blyth, UK. You will take full responsibility for directing all mechanical construction works on site, driving safe, timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project execution.

    Key Responsibilities

    Site Management: Lead day-to-day mechanical site operations and oversee all mechanical installation activities throughout the project lifecycle.
    Quality Assurance: Execute and enforce robust QA/QC procedures to ensure full compliance with design specifications and high standards.
    Coordination & Planning: Partner with Planners, Project Managers, design consultants, and sub-contractors to align project programmes and buildability.
    Sub-Contractor Management: Oversee mechanical sub-contractor performance, tracking progress, monitoring labor levels, facilitating coordination meetings, and maintaining up-to-date health and safety documentation.
    Design & Technical Reviews: Review drawings, technical submittals, and specifications to resolve technical issues proactively and align information with the project timeline.
    Meetings & Reporting: Lead site meetings, engineering reviews, and handover sessions; generate progress reports for project leadership.
    Health & Safety: Drive an uncompromised health and safety culture, enforcing strict compliance across all site activities.
    Commercial & Handover Support: Support cost control by tracking variations in weekly commercial meetings, and manage mechanical snagging to ensure efficient close-out.Skills & Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
    Experience: Minimum 8+ years of mechanical construction experience, with a heavy emphasis on direct site management.
    Technical Expertise: Proven record of managing complex mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, and building services) on large-scale builds.
    Industry Background: Data centre, mission-critical, or major industrial project experience is highly desirable.
    Core Competencies: Strong grasp of construction sequencing, commissioning processes, sub-contractor leadership, and clear stakeholder communication.What Our Client Offers
