How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Class 2 Driver

    (Cat C)

    Location: Heywood
    Job Type: Ongoing
    Shift Pattern: Any 4 Days from 7

    Pay Rates  PAYE (Paid Weekly)

    AM Shifts (22:45 - Midday)

    £19.50 per hour
    £24.85 per hour including holiday pay

    Additional Payments

    Weekend Bonus: £61.15 per shift
    Nights Out Bonus: £28.79 per night (if required)
    Bank Holiday Bonus

    About the Role

    Proman UK, acting as an Employment Business, is currently recruiting experienced Class 2 HGV / LGV C Drivers to support our client based in Heywood. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established distribution operation delivering products to retail outlets across the UK.

    The role offers a flexible 4-day working week with a published rota provided one week in advance, allowing drivers to plan their work-life balance effectively.

    Shift Pattern

    Any 4 days out of 7
    Sunday is typically a scheduled rest day
    Additional two consecutive rest days during the week
    Client operation runs Monday to Saturday
    Example rota:Weekly rotas are published one week in advance

    Sunday - Off
    Monday - Work
    Tuesday - Work
    Wednesday - Off
    Thursday - Off
    Friday - Work
    Saturday - Work

    Opportunities to pick up additional shifts on scheduled rest days when available
    Occasional Sunday work may be available for specific routes requiring an overnight stay.

    Start Times & Hours

    Regular start times between 00:00 and 03:00 am
    Flexibility around preferred start times where operationally possible
    Shifts range from 8 hours up to the legal maximum of 15 hours
    Most drivers working this pattern average around 50 hours per week across 4 working days
    Typically completing 3 to 5 deliveries per shift

    Duties

    You will be responsible for delivering products to customer sites, with many deliveries taking place outside normal trading hours.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Safe and professional operation of a Class 2 vehicle
    Accessing delivery locations using provided keys and instructions
    Unloading products from the vehicle
    Using a sack truck to move stock into customer premises
    Placing products into designated storage areas
    Completing all delivery paperwork and compliance requirements

    Nights Out

    Availability to complete nights out is essential, although the client will always try to accommodate driver preferences wherever possible.

    Current routes may include:

    South Wales - 1 night out
    Northern Ireland - 2 nights out
    Scotland - 1 to 4 nights out, 
    Training

    Fully paid training is provided for the right candidate and typically takes around 2 weeks to complete, ensuring you are confident with routes, delivery procedures and customer site access requirements.

    This is a physically demanding role.

    Drivers will be required to manually unload products from the vehicle and transport them into customer premises using a sack truck. Candidates should be comfortable with regular manual handling and physical work.

    Requirements

    Valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence with a min of 12 months experience
    Valid Driver CPC Qualification
    Digital Tachograph Card
    Good communication and customer service skills
    Reliable and flexible approach to work
    Ability and willingness to complete nights out
    Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties
