How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Installs Electrician | Yorkshire
A genuinely flexible Electrician role where you're trusted to get the job done.

⭐ Why this Electrician role stands out

Genuine flexibility – need to do the school run, have an appointment or start later one day? That's absolutely fine, provided your hours are covered and communication is there.
Home early most days – the hours are 8am to 4:30pm, but many engineers are getting home around 2–3pm once their daily workload is completed.
One postal area per day – no driving all over Yorkshire.
Your own dedicated coordinator – every engineer has a dedicated coordinator, supported by a planning manager. They organise your jobs, check customers are available before you attend and help deal with any issues or delays. You're not being passed around day to day.
A company that values its people – there are lots of long serving employees, with most people having been with the business for 5 to 10 years. People don't tend to leave + They're only hiring due to new contracts.
Premium rate overtime – additional work is regularly available during the week and at weekends if you want to increase your earnings.
Proper training and support – new starters are eased into the workload based on their experience. For example all new starters will receive training on the new environmental sensor systems in place with clients.
No call out rota – this is an installation focused role, so there are no out of hours call outs.
Newer company van + fuel card – the oldest van in the fleet is currently a 2024 model, with compact vans that are easy to park.
One mental health day per year, plus charity initiatives and access to a range of discounts and benefits through BrightHR. Package:

Starting salary for those with the 2391 qualification: £38.5K to £40K.
Starting salary on average, for those without the 2391 qualification = £36,000. Potential for flexibilities.  ⭐ The Electrician role:
You'll be working independently across domestic properties, carrying out predominantly electrical installation work as well as testing and maintenance work when required.
New starters are gradually introduced to the workload based on their individual experience and capabilities, rather than simply being thrown in at the deep end.
The majority of the work is sole working, giving you the autonomy to manage your own jobs.
