How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School - Islington

    Full Time | Term Time Only | Immediate Start
    Up to £125 per day | Long Term | Temp to Perm

    Long Term Futures are recruiting an experienced Behaviour Mentor to join a mainstream secondary school in Islington, supporting students across KS3 and KS4.

    The school is looking for a confident Behaviour Mentor who can build strong relationships with young people displaying challenging behaviour, SEMH needs and barriers to learning. You will work both inside and outside the classroom, providing targeted support to improve behaviour, engagement and attendance.

    This is a long-term temp-to-perm opportunity, with an immediate start available for the right candidate.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour interventions
    Support students with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs
    Work across KS3 and KS4
    Support pupils within lessons and during periods of withdrawal
    Use effective de-escalation and behaviour management strategies
    Help students regulate emotions and re-engage with learning
    Work closely with Heads of Year, teachers, SENCO and pastoral teams
    Support improvements in behaviour, attendance and engagement

    Ideal Candidate Will Have:

    Previous Behaviour Mentor or behaviour support experience
    Experience working with secondary-aged young people
    Confidence managing challenging behaviour
    Understanding of SEMH and additional needs
    Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
    A calm, resilient and consistent approach
    Backgrounds in youth work, mentoring, pastoral support, PRU/AP or SEN are welcomed
