How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Our client is a well-established and respected house builder with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality new homes across the region.

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join the project on an initial 3-month contract, supporting the delivery of a substantial 150-unit traditional build housing development.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident new-build professional who can quickly integrate into an established site team and make an immediate impact.

    The Role

Working alongside the existing project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day construction activities and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme and quality expectations.

The development is a traditional build residential scheme, so previous experience working on similar housing developments is essential.

    Key responsibilities will include:

Managing day-to-day construction activities across the development.
Coordinating subcontractors, trades and site labour.
Monitoring progress against the build programme and key targets.
Ensuring plots progress efficiently through each stage of construction.
Maintaining high standards of health & safety across the site.
Ensuring all works are completed to the required quality and specification.
Carrying out regular site inspections and quality checks.
Identifying and resolving issues that could affect programme or delivery.
Coordinating with the Contracts Manager and wider project team.
Ensuring subcontractors are working efficiently and to agreed programmes.
Maintaining excellent site presentation and housekeeping standards.
Ensuring works comply with company procedures, building regulations and NHBC requirements.
Providing strong leadership and direction to subcontractors and trades.

    About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

Proven experience as a Site Manager within residential new build housing.
Strong experience working on traditional build developments.
Previous experience managing multiple plots within a busy housing development.
The ability to hit the ground running and quickly take ownership of site activities.
    Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Strong knowledge of construction programmes, sequencing and build processes.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and managing subcontractors.
A strong understanding of health & safety and quality requirements.
Relevant qualifications SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.

    The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-respected house builder on a large 150-unit development in Preston.

The role is offered on an initial 3-month contract, making it particularly well suited to an experienced Site Manager who is immediately available or coming to the end of their current project.

If you have a strong newbuild background, experience with traditional build housing and are confident managing a busy site environment, we would be keen to hear from you.

If suitable, I will be in touch to discuss this opportunity with you further
