How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Production Supervisor

    Location: Consett

    Hours: 4 Shift – 40.25 hours per week
    06:00 – 18:00 / 18:00 – 06:00

    Pay: £24.63 per hour

    AMLR are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to join a leading aerospace manufacturer based in Consett. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional to take a key leadership role within a high-performance production environment, driving improvements across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People.

    Key responsibilities for Production Supervisor:

    * Leading and supervising production teams to ensure manufacturing targets and customer requirements are consistently achieved.

    * Managing production activities across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People.

    * Developing employees through coaching, training and effective performance management.

    * Supporting continuous improvement across manufacturing, quality, health, safety and environmental performance.

    * Promoting Lean Manufacturing techniques and other modern manufacturing methods to improve efficiency and productivity.

    * Monitoring production performance and identifying opportunities to improve processes, output and delivery.

    * Analysing production problems and making effective decisions to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.

    * Communicating effectively across all levels of the business, including internal departments, external functions and suppliers.

    * Supporting cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives to improve profitability and deliver increased value to customers.

    * Driving improvements in delivery performance to meet and exceed customer expectations and targets.

    * Supporting effective manpower planning and responding to changing production requirements.

    * Managing high-pressure situations, including immediate customer requirements, short-notice overtime and shift changes.

    * Leading and managing projects and tasks from initial planning through to successful completion.

    * Using analytical and presentation skills to monitor, communicate and improve operational performance.

    * Supporting the wider SQCDP framework and contributing to a positive culture across the business.

    * Promoting diversity, inclusion, wellbeing and community within the workplace.

    * Ensuring all activities are carried out in line with company safety standards and procedures.

    Requirements for Production Supervisor:

    * Proven leadership or supervisory experience within a manufacturing or production environment.

    * Extensive knowledge of production processes, ideally within the aerospace or automotive industry.

    * Strong commercial awareness with excellent problem analysis and decision-making skills.

    * First-class leadership, motivational and people development skills.

    * Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal departments, external functions and suppliers.

    * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques and other modern manufacturing methods.

    * Strong commitment to continuous improvement across manufacturing, quality, health, safety and environmental performance.

    * Ability to work effectively under pressure, including short-notice overtime, shift changes and manpower planning.

    * Strong teamwork skills with a self-motivated and proactive approach.

    * Educated to, or willing to work towards, a Level 3/5 management qualification or equivalent.

    * Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

    * Strong project management, analytical and presentation skills, with the ability to manage projects and tasks through to completion.
