How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is a hands-on management position requiring someone with the authority, experience and leadership skills to manage large teams, drive standards and ensure the warehouse operates safely, efficiently and to the highest possible levels of productivity.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience managing warehouse operations across Goods In, Goods Out, Picking, Packing, Stock Control, Inventory and Dispatch, together with the ability to manage, motivate and, when necessary, challenge a large workforce.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead, manage and motivate a large warehouse workforce, including Team Leaders, Supervisors, Pickers, Packers, FLT drivers and other warehouse personnel. Work closely with transport, purchasing, production, sales and senior management teams.

    * Ensure all warehouse areas are adequately staffed and operating efficiently.

    * Manage Goods In and Goods Out operations, ensuring deliveries and dispatches are processed accurately and on time.

    * Deal with operational issues quickly and effectively.

    * Maintain extremely high standards of stock accuracy and inventory control. Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.

    * Monitor productivity, performance and attendance across the warehouse team. Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable for their performance.

    * Work closely with HR and senior management on recruitment, disciplinary matters, absence management and staff development.

    * Monitor KPIs and produce regular performance reports.

    * Identify areas for improvement and implement more efficient working practices.

    * Maintain accurate warehouse records and systems.

    * Ensure warehouse space is utilised effectively and maintained to a high standard.

    * Ensure all warehouse equipment is properly maintained and safely operated.

    * Ensure full compliance with company policies, health & safety legislation and warehouse procedures.

    Health & Safety

The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for maintaining high health and safety standards throughout the warehouse.

    This will include:

    * Ensuring staff are appropriately trained and competent for their roles. Ensuring all staff follow company health & safety procedures.

    * Ensuring appropriate PPE is worn.

    * Managing safe working practices around FLTs and warehouse machinery.

    * Ensuring warehouse traffic management procedures are followed.

    * Carrying out and reviewing risk assessments where required.

    * Reporting and investigating accidents and near misses.

    Experience & Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have:

    * Extensive warehouse management experience, preferably within a large-volume operation. Strong experience across Goods In, Goods Out, Picking, Packing, Dispatch and Stock Control.

    * Experience with recruitment, staff training, performance management and disciplinary procedures.

    * Excellent knowledge of inventory management and warehouse management systems.

    * Strong understanding of warehouse KPIs and productivity targets. The ability to analyse warehouse data and identify operational improvements.

    * Strong understanding of warehouse health & safety requirements.

    * Relevant and up-to-date warehouse qualifications/certifications.

    * Excellent IT and administration skills.

    * FLT certification and experience would be highly advantageous.

    The Person

We are looking for someone who is:

A natural leader who commands respect.

    Comfortable managing a large workforce.

Not afraid to challenge poor performance or unacceptable standards.

    Highly organised and methodical.

    Calm and decisive under pressure.

    Target-driven and results-focused.

    Proactive rather than reactive.

Highly accountable and willing to take ownership.

    Passionate about maintaining high standards.

Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

If you are an experienced warehouse professional who is strong enough to manage people, experienced enough to understand the operation and driven enough to improve it, we want to hear from you
