How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You will play an important role in helping students engage with education, develop their confidence and independence, and make progress towards their individual goals.

    Your responsibilities may include:

Contributing to a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.
    The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be patient, resilient and compassionate, with a genuine commitment to supporting young people with additional needs.

Previous experience working within an SEN school, specialist education setting, residential care, youth work, social care or a similar environment would be highly desirable.

Experience supporting pupils with severe learning difficulties, autism, complex needs, challenging behaviour or trauma-related needs would be advantageous.

You must be able to remain calm and consistent when faced with challenging behaviour and be confident adapting your approach to meet the needs of individual pupils.

    Essential Requirements
    Must be able to drive.
Must be available to work 5 days per week, Monday to Friday.

SEN or specialist setting experience is highly advantageous.
A patient, resilient and supportive approach.
    Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential.
    Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or support professional looking to develop their career within a specialist SEN environment.

You will be joining a dedicated team focused on putting the individual needs of each young person at the centre of their education and support. The school provides staff with appropriate training and support to help them understand and respond effectively to complex needs.

Aspire People are recruiting for this position on behalf of the school.

If you are a dedicated education or support professional, hold a driving licence, can commit to working Monday to Friday and are looking for a long-term SEN opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
