How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: £31,888 per annum FTE
    Hours: 37 hours per week

    Eligibility: This role is open to women only under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9

    About the Role
    Red Snapper Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Team Manager - Domestic Abuse Housing & Support Services to join a specialist organisation supporting women and children affected by domestic abuse.
    Based at the Heathcote Building, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced domestic abuse practitioner, senior practitioner or existing manager looking to take the next step in their career.
    You will lead and support a team of Survivor Advocacy Support Workers, ensuring they provide high-quality, trauma-informed and survivor-centred support to women and children living in accommodation-based services.
    This is initially offered as a 3-month temporary contract, with a view to becoming permanent for the right candidate.
    Key Responsibilities

    Lead the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed support to women and children experiencing domestic abuse.
    Line manage, motivate and support a team of Survivor Advocacy Support Workers.
    Provide effective supervision, reflective practice and case management support.
    Ensure appropriate safeguarding, risk assessment and risk management procedures are followed.
    Support staff to deliver person-centred support based on individual needs, risks and strengths.
    Lead on recruitment, induction and ongoing staff development.
    Build and maintain effective relationships with statutory and voluntary sector partner agencies.
    Represent the service at multi-agency meetings and forums.
    Contribute to the development and improvement of accommodation-based services.
    Monitor service performance, data and outcomes to support quality assurance.
    Ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting.
    Promote good data protection and information-handling practices within the team.
    Support a positive culture of health, safety, wellbeing and continuous improvement.
    Ensure services operate in line with organisational standards, safeguarding requirements and contractual expectations.What We're Looking For
    We're looking for someone with a strong background in domestic abuse, housing support, safeguarding or complex needs, who has experience of leading or supervising others.
    You should have:

    Experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse or people with complex needs.
    Experience working in a leadership, senior practitioner or supervisory position.
    Experience of safeguarding, risk assessment and case management.
    Knowledge of DASH and/or MARAC processes.
    Experience working collaboratively with statutory and voluntary sector agencies.
    An understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children.
    Knowledge of homelessness and the housing and support options available to women and children.
    An understanding of trauma-informed and survivor-centred approaches.
    Experience working with diverse and marginalised communities.
    Strong leadership and people management skills.
    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    The ability to manage competing priorities and work flexibly.
    A compassionate, non-judgemental and empowering approach.Qualifications
    A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in domestic abuse, social care, housing or a related field is desirable.
    Management training or a willingness to undertake relevant management training is also required.
    Enhanced DBS
    The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain an Enhanced DBS clearance.
