How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are looking for an experienced Drainage Engineer / Plumber to join our team, based around the Gatwick area and working across London and the surrounding areas.

    The role will suit someone who is reliable, practical and confident working independently on a range of drainage and plumbing jobs. The successful candidate will be expected to travel to sites across London and the surrounding areas, with travel time paid door-to-door.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out drainage and plumbing works across domestic and commercial properties

    * Diagnose and resolve drainage and plumbing issues efficiently

    * Undertake repairs, maintenance and installation work

    * Clear blocked drains using appropriate equipment and methods

    * Carry out CCTV drainage surveys where required

    * Identify faults and recommend suitable solutions

    * Work safely and professionally on customer sites

    * Complete job sheets and provide accurate information on works carried out

    * Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment to a good standard

    * Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues

    * Follow all relevant health & safety procedures

    Requirements

    * Previous experience as a Drainage Engineer, Drainage Operative, Plumber or similar

    * Able to diagnose problems and work independently

    * Full UK driving licence – essential

    * Reliable, punctual and willing to travel

    * Good customer service and communication skills

    * Comfortable working outdoors and in different environments

    * Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional Saturdays

    Qualifications & Certifications

    Formal qualifications are desirable but not essential. Proven hands-on drainage or plumbing experience is more important.

    The following would be advantageous:

    * NVQ or City & Guilds plumbing qualification

    * CCTV drainage qualification/experience

    * High-pressure water jetting certification

    * Confined space certification

    * CSCS card, where required for specific sites

    Working Hours & Pay

    45 hours per week , 06:30 start times

    £17.00 per hour

    Door-to-door travel time paid
