How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    COOK – TO COVER BANK SHIFTS

    Location: Harrow
    Agency: Tezlom
    Pay Rate: £14 per hour
    Job Type: Temporary / Bank Shifts

    About the Role

    Tezlom is currently looking for an experienced Cook to cover flexible bank shifts at care homes in Harrow, London area

    This is a great opportunity for an experienced Cook or Chef who has worked in a care, nursing or similar setting and is confident preparing meals that meet the individual dietary requirements of residents

    Key Responsibilities

    * Preparing and cooking fresh, nutritious meals for residents

    * Following menus and ensuring meals are prepared to the required standards

    * Adhering to residents’ individual dietary requirements and preferences

    * Preparing meals for residents with specific dietary needs and modified diets where required

    * Carrying out regular stock and inventory checks

    * Monitoring food supplies and informing the appropriate person when stock needs replenishing

    * Ensuring food is stored correctly and safely

    * Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety

    * Following food safety and health & safety procedures at all times

    * Keeping kitchen and food preparation areas clean, organised and well maintained

    * Working effectively as part of the care home team

    * Being able to work independently and as part of a team

    Essential Requirements

    * Previous experience working as a Cook or Chef

    * Experience within a care home, nursing home, hospital, school, nursery or similar setting

    * Experience preparing meals in line with individual dietary requirements

    * Good understanding of food hygiene and safe food preparation

    * Enhanced DBS Check – must already have one or be willing to complete one

    * Food Hygiene Training Certificate or be willing to complete one

    * Safeguarding Training Certificate or be willing to complete one

    * Ability to carry out stock and inventory checks

    * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

    * Ability to work effectively as part of a team

    * Reliable and flexible to cover bank shifts

    * Good communication and organisational skills
