How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Health Coordinator / Registered Nurse
    About Petty Pool
    Petty Pool Trust is a specialist charity dedicated to supporting young people with learning disabilities and difficulties.
    We provide high-quality education, training, and outdoor learning experiences that empower individuals to develop skills, confidence, and independence.
    Summary
    To lead and coordinate all aspects of health provision across the college, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant systems for managing medical needs.
    The post holder will oversee medical policies, procedures, care planning, staff training, and risk management, enabling learners to fully access the curriculum and wider college experience.
    Responsibilities
    Medical Leadership & Coordination
    * Lead on all aspects of medical provision across the college, ensuring safe and consistent practice.
    * Develop, implement, and review medical policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring compliance with statutory guidance.
    * Oversee the safe storage, recording, and administration of medication, ensuring robust systems are in place.
    * Maintain and monitor accurate and up-to-date medical records for all learners, including those attending residential provision.
    * Ensure appropriate procedures are in place for managing health conditions, including epilepsy, asthma, allergies, and other complex needs.
    Care Planning & Learner Support
    * Lead the development and review of individual healthcare plans and health risk assessments for learners, working collaboratively with curriculum staff.
    * Ensure all care plans are clearly communicated and implemented consistently by staff.
    * Provide guidance and oversight to staff to ensure learners' health needs are safely supported within all curriculum areas.
    * Support learners to access the curriculum by ensuring reasonable adjustments and health-related strategies are embedded in practice.
    Staff Training & Support
    * Provide and source training and support to staff on medical needs, procedures, and individual learner requirements.
    * Ensure all relevant staff are trained and competent in medication administration and management of health conditions.
    * Maintain oversight of first aid provision, ensuring training is up to date and meets regulatory requirements.
    * Identify training needs and coordinate delivery of specialist training through external professionals, e.g. nursing teams, SaLT, and NHS services.
    First Aid & Medical Response
    * Oversee the delivery of first aid and immediate medical response for learners.
    * Ensure appropriate procedures are followed in the event of illness, injury, or emergency situations, including escalation where required.
    * Monitor and review accident and incident reporting to identify trends and inform improvements in practice.
    * Work in partnership with the Head of Estates to ensure that all first aid provision across the college is fully compliant, regularly checked, and safely maintained.
    * Oversee the auditing and monitoring of first aid equipment, resources, and facilities, ensuring they are fit for purpose, appropriately stocked, and accessible across all curriculum areas.
    * Ensure systems are in place for the routine checking, replenishment, and replacement of first aid supplies.
    Risk Management & Compliance
    * Lead on the development and review of risk assessments relating to health and medical needs.
    * Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and safeguarding legislation.
    * Work closely with the Assistant Principal – Behaviour, Inclusion and Safeguarding and the DSL to ensure joined-up safeguarding and health practices.
    * Support inspections and audits, e.g. Ofsted, by ensuring robust evidence of medical provision and compliance.
    Multi-Agency Working
    * Liaise with health professionals, local authorities, families, and external agencies to ensure coordinated support.
    * Attend and contribute to reviews and multi-disciplinary meetings where health input is required.
    * Ensure recommendations from external professionals are embedded into practice and provision.
    Curriculum & Wider College Contribution
    * Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to support the delivery of health education, wellbeing, and independence skills.
    * Contribute to the development of learners' understanding of health and wellbeing in preparation for adulthood.
    * Support enrichment, trips, and residentials by ensuring appropriate medical planning and risk management.
    General Responsibilities
    - Promote and safeguard the welfare of all learners in line with college policies.
    - Uphold and promote the ethos and values of Petty Pool.
    - Participate in training and professional development as required.
    - Work flexibly to meet the changing needs of learners and the organisation.

    In accordance with the Trust's flexibility policy, the post holder will be required to undertake any other duties considered commensurate with this position, as directed by the Senior Management Team of Petty Pool, or as a mutually agreed developmental opportunity
