How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Our client is one of the UK's largest and most trusted technical services, engineering, and program management experts. With a workforce of thousands operating across major industrial and defense sites, they deliver high-integrity infrastructure solutions across the nuclear, energy, and defense sectors.

They foster a culture rooted in safety, inclusion, and continuous professional growth, offering employees structured career progression alongside leading benefits packages.

    About the Opportunity:

This role sits within the central Quality Management Team supporting the construction of Hinkley Point C (HPC)-the UK's flagship nuclear new build project. The Quality Management Lead (QML) ensures strict compliance with project quality requirements across the entire lifecycle, spanning contract award, detailed design, procurement, off-site manufacturing, shipping, site installation, commissioning, and final close-out.

Reporting day-to-day to the Quality Management Team Lead (QMTL) and Quality Delivery Manager (QDM), the QML oversees supply-chain adherence to contracted Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) standards, developing Project Quality Control Plans (PQCP) and driving Lifetime Quality Records (LTQR) management.

    Key Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Governance & Quality Control Plans

Project Quality Control Plans (PQCP): Author and execute PQCPs for assigned project contracts, ensuring full alignment with core requirements like the General Quality Assurance Specification (GQAS) and Inspection & Test Plan Specifications (ITP).

Contractor QA Oversight: Review, accept, and monitor Contractors' Quality Assurance Plans (CQAP) provided by Tier 1 and Tier 2 supply chain partners.

Supply Chain Audits: Identify supplier audit needs, coordinate with Supply Chain Auditors, and track audit findings through to swift resolution.

    Manufacturing Surveillance & Inspection Oversight

Graded Surveillance: Implement risk-graded manufacturing surveillance based on equipment safety functions, coordinating off-site inspection entities and evaluating inspection agency performance.

Hold & Witness Points: Establish and verify hold and witness points within supplier Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Plans, and Follow-Up Documents (FUDs).

Documentation & Release: Lead the review and acceptance of End of Manufacturing Reports (EoMR), End of Construction Status Reports (ECSR), and End of Erection Status Reports (EESR) to authorize the quality release of equipment to the HPC site.

    Stakeholder Management & Quality Records

LTQR Management: Lead the implementation and detailed review of Lifetime Quality Records (LTQR) to guarantee full regulatory traceability.

Stakeholder Coordination: Build effective working relationships across multi-cultural delivery teams, client entities, and external contracted inspection bodies (including Direction Industrielle).

Continuous Improvement: Actively identify non-conformances, resolve technical quality issues, and implement proactive process improvements across the programme.

    Candidate Profile:

    Requirements & Qualifications

Education: HNC, HND, or Degree in a relevant science, engineering, or quality management discipline (or equivalent experience).

Nuclear / Safety-Critical Experience: Proven leadership experience within a QA/QC environment in the nuclear sector or another heavily regulated, safety-critical industry (e.g., aerospace, defense, oil & gas).

Quality Solutions Track Record: Broad background implementing diverse quality assurance tools, inspection frameworks, and continuous improvement initiatives with a strong track record of delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to manage complex technical interfaces and resolve multi-stakeholder challenges in a multi-cultural project environment.

    Key Competencies

Technical Rigour: Meticulous attention to detail regarding nuclear quality documentation, material certifications, and regulatory compliance.

Collaborative Leadership: Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge supply chain partners and drive a "Right First Time" culture
