Job Title:            Surveyor
Type:                    6 months temporary contract
Location:           West London
Salary:                up to £400 a day
Hours:                 37 hours
 
BRC are working closely with a leading housing provider to recruit an experienced Surveyor to join their Homecare team.
 
This role will provide property surveying services across the Homecare directorate, with responsibility for identifying and assessing property defects, providing technical solutions and supporting the delivery of maintenance and improvement works.
 
Duties:

Inspect and assess repair requests, defects and properties where technical surveying advice is required.
Investigate technical defects and disrepair cases, including property inspections and preparation of Housing Conditions reports.
Provide technical support to the legal department in relation to disrepair and legal claims.
Provide technical maintenance advice to operational teams, contractors, subcontractors and consultants.
Obtain quotations for repairs and specialist works where required.
Provide technical approval and support for Disabled Facilities Grant applications and associated works.
Support customer permissions and retrospective permission requests.
Assist with planned maintenance programmes and property care requirements.
Carry out property inspections to assess component replacement dates and identify works for inclusion within planned maintenance programmes.
Provide technical leadership across multi-disciplinary projects delivered by in-house teams and external contractors.
Ensure works comply with statutory requirements and meet customer expectations.
Maintain high standards of customer care, communication and data quality.  
Requirements:

Experience within building maintenance or building surveying.
Relevant degree, HNC/HND in Building Surveying or an equivalent construction-related qualification.
Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload effectively.
Commercially astute with a focus on achieving value for money.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and an understanding of maintenance management systems.
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, or the ability to travel effectively between locations.
RICS membership is advantageous.
Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Basic DBS check required.
