How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Overseeing the preparation, refurbishment, assembly and finishing of new, existing, reclaimed and bought-in furniture.

    * Ensuring furniture is completed to the required specification and quality standards.

    * Managing WIP and finished goods areas effectively, ensuring furniture is stored safely and efficiently.

    * Liaising with Logistics to coordinate the movement and storage of furniture.

    * Ensuring required materials, components, stock and sundries are available when needed.

    * Maintaining accurate production records and providing progress updates to management.

    * Supporting the team hands-on when required.

    * Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and Health & Safety throughout the workshop.

    * Supporting the induction, training, development and performance management of team members.

    * Ensuring appropriate PPE, COSHH procedures, equipment checks and safe systems of work are followed.

    About You

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a furniture, manufacturing, workshop or production environment, together with experience of supervising a team.

    You'll need to be:

    * Highly organised with excellent planning and prioritisation skills.

    * A confident people manager who can motivate a team and maintain standards.

    * Practical and hands-on, with a good understanding of furniture production or similar manufacturing processes.

    * Quality-focused, with strong attention to detail.

    * Comfortable working to deadlines and managing competing priorities.

    * A confident communicator who can work effectively with different departments.

    * Proactive in identifying issues and finding practical solutions.

    * Committed to maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and housekeeping.
