How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you an experienced regeneration professional looking for an opportunity to lead complex projects and make a lasting difference to communities?

whg has an emerging portfolio of regeneration opportunities and we are looking for a skilled, experienced and dedicated Regeneration Manager to support the Assistant Director within our Development directorate and help ensure the successful delivery of these schemes.

This is a senior management role, representing whg as the client and taking responsibility for regeneration schemes from the early stages of identification, feasibility, consultation and customer engagement, through to handover, defects and final certification. You will manage projects in line with the RIBA workplan, using whg’s bespoke project management system.

You will provide valuable technical input into the design process, with a strong understanding of the planning process, the NPPF, Planning Performance Agreements and Design and Access Statements, ensuring proposals respond to relevant local design codes.

Taking a hands-on approach to customer engagement and consultation, you will work closely with customers, colleagues and external specialists, including planning consultants. You will also oversee design development, programme, cost, quality and safety, supported by colleagues across the wider team.

You will be responsible for ensuring individual schemes are successfully delivered in accordance with Homes England requirements, while maintaining compliance with relevant internal, external, planning and regulatory requirements.

    Main job responsibilities:

    * Lead the delivery of regeneration schemes from initial feasibility and consultation through to handover, defects and final certification.

    * Manage programme, cost, quality, risk and safety throughout the delivery of each scheme.

    * Lead customer engagement and consultation, building trusted and empathetic relationships with customers and communities affected by regeneration.

    * Appoint and manage designers, consultants and specialist services, ensuring appropriate procurement processes are followed.

    * Lead design meetings and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders throughout the development process.

    * Manage the planning and consultation process, including attending planning committees and public consultation events where required.

    * Provide detailed input into scheme briefs and ensure drawings, designs and specifications meet whg’s design brief and employer’s requirements.

    * Support financial appraisals and budget setting, and manage and monitor project costs to ensure value for money.

    * Manage the tendering of projects and appointment of successful contractors in line with whg’s procurement and framework procedures.

    * Work closely with employer’s agents and clerks of works to monitor programme performance and address any concerns.

    * Ensure schemes comply with Homes England requirements and all relevant internal, external, planning and regulatory requirements.

    * Oversee post-contract delivery, handover and defects, maintaining a strong focus on quality, sustainability and effective risk management.

    * Ensure CDM compliance and that appropriate project risk registers are established and maintained.

    * Prepare and present project reports, including scheme outturn reports, to internal and external stakeholders.

    * Support and advise on Modern Methods of Construction, alternative construction techniques and sustainable solutions to help achieve Future Homes Standard and net zero carbon requirements.

We're looking for someone who has:

    * A degree or equivalent-level qualification, ideally in Project Management, Building Surveying, Architectural Technology or a related subject.

    * Recent and relevant experience of working in a similar regeneration, development or project management role.

    * A good knowledge of Homes England procedures and requirements.

    * Strong knowledge of project management and financial appraisal systems, such as ProVal, Sequel or similar.

    * A good technical understanding of project design and the ability to confidently contribute to the design development process.

    * Knowledge and understanding of the RIBA work stages, planning process, NPPF and relevant planning requirements.

    * Experience of managing consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.

    * Strong commercial awareness, with experience of project budgets, financial appraisal and cost control.

    * A good understanding of Modern Methods of Construction and Homes England guidance relating to the seven categories of MMC.

    * Technical knowledge of renewables and an understanding of the Future Homes Standard and net zero carbon requirements.

    * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce and confidently present reports.

    * Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective relationships with customers, colleagues, partners, consultants and contractors.

It would also be advantageous if you have demonstrable experience of Modern Methods of Construction, post-contract project delivery and working within a cost-control focused environment. An IOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification would also be desirable.

    What’s in it for you?

In return, you will receive a competitive salary, 27 days annual leave (plus Christmas shut down), a defined benefit pension scheme, health cash plan, a range of shopping and leisure discounts.
