How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you passionate about improving people’s health, wellbeing and working lives?

    Do you have the expertise and confidence to provide high-quality occupational health advice, while helping organisations create healthier, safer and more productive workplaces?

    We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Health Advisor to join our supportive and forward-thinking team.

    This is an excellent opportunity to use your clinical expertise across a varied occupational health role, providing professional advice, case management, health surveillance and health promotion to a diverse client base.

    The Role

    As an Occupational Health Advisor, you’ll provide a comprehensive range of occupational health services, supporting both employees and organisations.

    You’ll play a key role in helping individuals remain healthy and productive at work, while providing employers with clear, evidence-based advice to support effective workplace health management.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Provide expert, evidence-based occupational health case management, including advice relating to attendance, fitness for work, rehabilitation and workplace adjustments.

    * Produce clear, professional and comprehensive occupational health reports for a range of stakeholders.

    * Provide advice and guidance on occupational health legislation, best practice and workplace health matters.

    * Undertake health surveillance and fitness-for-role medical assessments in line with relevant policies, procedures and protocols.

    * Promote health and wellbeing through tailored health promotion initiatives and individual advice.

    * Deliver additional occupational health services, where appropriately trained and competent, including vaccinations, travel health advice, ergonomic assessments and health education.

    * Provide clinical guidance, supervision and support to colleagues, including Occupational Health Technicians.

    * Maintain professional standards and NMC registration.

    * Take an active role in continuing professional development and keeping knowledge and clinical practice up to date.

    What We’re Looking For

    We’re looking for a motivated, confident and compassionate Occupational Health professional who enjoys working with people and is committed to delivering a high-quality service.

    You’ll ideally have:

    * Current NMC registration (Part 1).

    * A postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health at Degree or Diploma level.

    * Experience and competence in spirometry, audiometry, general medicals and drug and alcohol screening.

    * Strong occupational health case management experience.

    * Experience conducting fitness-for-role assessments.

    * Excellent health promotion skills, with the ability to engage, educate and motivate individuals.

    * Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    * Excellent organisation and time-management skills.

    * A thorough understanding of data protection, confidentiality and professional standards.

    * A proactive and professional approach, with the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.

    Desirable Experience & Qualifications

    The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

    * Postgraduate Occupational Health qualification recorded on Part 3 of the NMC register.

    * An MSc in an Occupational Health-related field.

    * Dual RN/RMN qualification.

    * Experience teaching, training or mentoring Occupational Health students.

    * Advanced IT skills.

    * Experience providing ergonomic advice and workplace assessments
